Lisleman’s Left-over Laughs number 2

Are the numbers 1 and 2 the only ones needed for communication with pre-schoolers ?

Well here is my number 2.

That’s number 2 of my LLL theme series. Hopefully, you will not find it stinky at all.

I have to make it to LLL number 5 so I can do the mambo number 5.

Yes it’s LLL time.

LLL time is the time to share a laugh because laughs love sharing.

I can’t blog

The linky thing at the bottom of this post will be open for about a week. Don’t have a link to share with everyone on this visit - no problem you can add anytime over the next few days.

I will also link to one of my funny posts, but before you get to that listen to this funny story.

Do you find your kids funny? At least some of the time when they are not destroying the furniture or whining, they can be your private comedy act.

Picture this - Buckingham Fountain - hot steamy summer day in Chicago - lots of people enjoying the fountain
(notice the refreshing spray drifting in the breeze)

Years ago when our youngest now-adult daughter was just a toddler we took her to a summer event in Chicago. As we are admiring the refreshing fountain along with of crowd of others, she noticed the spray of water. She couldn’t resist running to the water (I believe she is part turtle?).

Then the next thing really shocked us.

Standing under the spray, she turns to us, lifts her little arms to the sky and yells at the top of her lungs:
Let’s get naked !

We immediately grab her to prevent any shedding of clothes and quickly walked away wondering should we tell the crowd that we are really not those type people.

She always loved taking a shower. I say her mom gave her the phrase “let’s get naked” during the pre-shower preparation.

Lisleman’s Left-over Laughs (on a Sunday)

Do blogs make you laugh?

Not all the time I know. Looking at pedicures can be a downer for me.

I know a funny (soon to-be-famous rumor has it) blogger out on the left coast. Her blog moniker is Unknown Mami. Oh, you came here from her Sundays-In-My-City? Oh OK no problem skip down to the pictures.

If you don’t know of Unknown Mami (most people don’t know the unknown - right?) then you should check out her blog and her SIMC feature.

Unknown Mami

So back to those laughs. You do know they are healthy for you. Stress relief.  Here’s a few funny pictures we (wife, daughter, myself) have taken.  I have enjoyed sharing these on A Few Clowns Short:

Laughs and smiles are great for recycling and sharing, so I’m starting Lisleman’s Left-over Laughs and you are here for the opening (aren’t you special).

A laugh is better when it's shared.

Funny stuff happens all the time. The best comedy is timeless. Don’t even think you need a new post to join LLL. It doesn’t need to be long. Just one joke, funny story is all.

Now if you are like me, you know you posted some funny thing long ago but can’t remember when or what. Good luck searching, it’s the only way I know to find that stuff. However if you do have the link to it, please add it to LLL.

The linky thing will be at the bottom. Just link-up a post of a funny story, picture, youtube clip or joke. You'll be glad you did because sharing a laugh is good thing.

I ask that you just include a link back here (ok if it's an old one you could edit it and add a link). Also if you like you could browse over here and pick up the code for the LLL badge. The linky thing will be up for more than a week.  I don't know when the next LLL will be but I'll post about it a few days beforehand and hope to do them monthly.

Don’t want to edit the old post? No problem, just mention LLL in your next post and put a link to the old funny one in the new post.

Here’s a sample joke I found:

A three-year-old boy was wondering about his testicles while taking a bath. "Mom" he asked, "are these my brains?" "Not yet," she replied.

Youtube if filled with funny stuff and junk too.  Play that funky music white boy.

Ready?

I'm going to be my own first player of the LLL game. I'm making sure this linky thing links - so check out my funny post about a pregnant font.

comment fun

Blogging provides many things for bloggers but one thing it should provide for all that blog is fun.

A benefit of blogging is its global reach and fortunately for me the English language is wide spread. Even downunder in Australia (land of OZ) they understand Americans (except maybe my comments). I have not travelled quite that far from home yet, but my blogging has.

There’s a favorite young woman blogger in OZ which I know some of you know. I’m referring to the blog Lilly’s Life and I must assume her name is Lilly. But one thing I’m not going to do, is assume or guess her age. I don’t know but maybe Aussies don’t age as quickly. Have you seen Olivia Newton-John lately? She’s over sixty and looking great. All that physical stuff pays off I guess.

Recently Lilly posted a short complaint about too much rain. I like to comment, so I did.

At the end of my comment I asked:
“Wonder if you have an answer for something I've noticed here in the states (maybe it's worldwide) - why does the weather become a bigger part of older people's lives?”

Lilly replied: (go to her site to read the whole comment exchange)
“...Older ....I am hoping that your definition of OLDER is 80 years plus not Lilly age plus.

I will ignore the fact my blog post focused entirely on the weather and attempt to answer the question as if I really was an older person (shut it...to anyone thinking something they shouldnt be). …”

She went on to give a very good answer to the question but ended it with asking my same question back.

I replied to that reply with:
“.... (groveling words about age sensitive, calm down, didn’t mean to imply, blah blah.) ….
P.S. Thanks for allowing me to practice pissing people off. It's a talent that I will need as I age.”

Lilly ended the exchange with one more reply:
“You had me at sweet young thing - I knew then I didnt need to read any further (ha ha)”
=*=*=*=

Have you had fun comment exchanges with your readers?

Have you ever had a simple question get you into trouble because it was taken the wrong way?

Unknown Mami does a regular post about comments. She has both funny and serious comments with the bloggers she reads.

little people little blog

Don't cry over spilt milk they say.  Really, why cry over anything that trivial?

Little change of subject (given we even had a subject?), I updated my "about" or "background" page.  I think some people read those pages.  I do when I find a new blog.  Do you?

So I added a few items about myself to it.  Any frequent reader probably already knows these things but for that person who is just a drive-by browser it might help draw them in or scare them away.

Oh, that above picture - it's from a blog I found back in 2008, back in the days before regular followers who were willing to share their comments.  Back when I was posting into the void.  I thought it was worth a repeat and that blog is still active so check it out.

My post from the past:

I just found this blog by an artist in the UK.
Interesting pictures.
Worth a look.

The Delivery is special

The web is great for finding a laugh.  Maybe I've even provided you one in a post up here.

I was just checking Mrs. 4444's blog and followed her link to Awkward Family Photos.com.

Have you seen this very funny site?

I had noticed it on Facebook but never bother to browse over there.  Well you should because I'm sure you will find something there to make you laugh and maybe even spoil yourself.

An example -  Here's a post from Awkward Family Photos.com called:

Doesn't she look a little too happy to see the young water boy?  It's just water right?  Are the kids about to take Max for a long walk?

There's many other awkward pictures up there and the site is up for the People's Voice Webby Award.  Now I don't typically vote in these things but the following video just had me convinced.

Don't you wish you had cool grandparents like that?
