friday fragment frosting

I knew you might show up but I didn’t bake a cake. I never have. This past week I posted the reason I don’t bake.

Cake or no cake it’s time for a round of FF posting. If I’m lucky I’ll find a posting with frosting. Mrs. 4444 has the FF collection on her blog.

Half-Past Kissin' Time

Not many songs about cake. I found this funky one by an Average White Band called “Cut the Cake.”

Do you think blogging is a piece of cake or a cake walk? It’s a little tougher. I don’t know where I’ll be when the music stops. I remember that game took the cake.

A good baker can really frost you.

No surprise, there is a reality show about cake, Cake Boss. I hate the non-real reality shows. I have limited knowledge of cable shows. Has there been a reality show about bloggers yet?

I read a few good quotes recently.
“In the beginning there was nothing. God said, ‘Let there be light!’ And there was light. There was still nothing but you could see it a whole lot better.” Ellen DeGeneres
“It doesn’t make a difference what temperature a room is, it’s always room temperature.” Steven Wright
“Time is an illusion. Lunchtime doubly so.” Douglas Adams
“He asked me if I knew what time it was. I said, ‘Yes but not RIGHT now.’” Steven Wright

Those of you reading this on Friday, May 31, 2013, I want to alert you to the large asteroid, QE2, passing cosmically (not comically) close to earth this afternoon. NASA's money spent on tracking objects potentially on a collision course with us is well spent.

I like NASA and even got to do a little work with the  NASA Langley group once.  NASA posted a nice picture of Martian rocks recently and someone noticed a squirrel or whatever name is used for a Mars rodent in the picture. The original picture can be found here. Here’s the blow-up of the rodent (you can find it by zooming in on the left side of the picture  (more on Mars rodent here).

Those of you my age or older might remember when NASA first formed they discovered the man-in-the-moon.

I can’t help it ‘bout the shape I’m in. I can’t sing, I ain’t pretty and my legs are thin. But don’t ask me what I think of you, I might not give the answer you want me to.

A reality show about bloggers...hmmm...no, I don't think it would catch on. :) Thanks for the heads-up on the asteroid!

no problem - be sure to duck.
Do you think a reality show about bloggers would be too wordy?
Since I don't watch reality shows I wouldn't watch it anyway.
thanks

BLogging has been extremely tough for me lately. Life has gotten in the way of the fun stuff.

best quote ever regarding the squirrel breathing on mars, slim to none. the only 'reality show" i watch is "undercover boss" xoxoxo

The rodent wishes there were no light as it is a rat, not a squirrel.

Like a cake walk, blogging can be tough. And I'm referring to Jule's (on Cougar Town) changing the meaning of 'cake walk' to mean it's hard, because, as she said “You know, it’s tricky to walk around holding a bunch of cakes. I think that cake walks should mean something really hard.” So there ya go. ;)

They have So. Many. reality shows out there - I'm surprised no one has developed one about bloggers yet. :)

Loved the quotes - and thanks for the continuous laughs today! :)

I didn't someone had changed (or tried to) the meaning of cake walk. Glad to share/generate some laughs.

Aren't squirrels just bigger furrier rats with good climbing claws?
thanks

Not enough good air up there for our earth type squirrels but maybe Martian squirrels are mostly rock and don't need much good air.
thanks

That's no good. Wishing better times for you.

Ok do you know that man-in-the-moon? Not a man right? This is a squirrel-in-the-mars thing. thanks

Depends what she/he says to the computer. I have very interesting conversations with computer screens. Oh the rodent sighting was in a Mars picture. Same solar system so that's OK.
thanks

I hardly watch any cable shows of the variety nature so while I have heard of the Cake Boss show, I can't imagine why people would watch it routinely. Besides, I probably would end up wanting to go to the kitchen and bake a cake after seeing it.

A Mars rodent? I guess I won't be wanting to ever go to Mars.

lisleman said...

Yeah good thing I don't get that channel because I would be making trips to the bakery. I guess a Mars rodent would eat rock and dirt since no pictures have shown vegetation. Your comments often give me an idea, thanks. Dying on Mars would have the advantage of my offspring being to look up in the night sky and say I'm up there.

We're supposed to believe that rodent actually lives on Mars?

I watch far too much TV. As far as I know there have been none about bloggers but there have been a number of them comment about needing space to do their blogging, especially for food blogs, on House Hunters or travel blogs on House Hunters International.

Confession time-- After all these years, I learned something new today. I had no idea what the lyrics were to that song!! Cake! Who knew.

I'm a Cake boss tv show fan. It's amazing the cakes those guys come up with. And what's even more amazing is how the transport them to the events.

Have a great weekend, Bill.

So not focused on the blogging but blogging in part of the shows story. Humans have developed a great skill for pattern recognition. It's a cool looking rock. thanks

Ooops. Guess that makes me the Penny of your Big Bang Theory show!

thanks - you too.

I think blogging is pretty easy. Easier than baking a cake.

lisleman said...

All depends what you compare it to and the type of blog you run. If it was very easy for everyone then I don't think some of better bloggers I have followed would have quit. Many reasons to drop it. The time consuming effort probably pushes many to quit.
thanks

So a moon rodent?? I think the moon would be a perfect place for all rodents!! We need NASA to work on that!!!

I don't want to be a blogger on TV. That would require me to brush my hair and get a pretty coffee mug while I do this :-) And thanks a lot! Now I want cake!!

Yes Mankind has taken too long to get there. I think the advance squirrel technology started with Secret Squirrel. thanks
