not a super bowl ad

Great Super Bowl tonight. I like a close finish. I've posted about how social media has influenced the release of the ads this year more than ever.

However, did you notice the word "not" in the post title?  This short post is about an "ad" I created for my A Few Clowns Short blog.  If you take time to watch it (2 min.) please let me know what you think.  I consider some of my other youtube clips to be better.

Oh did you know I had a few more youtube clips.  You can find most of them here.

This past week, Barbara over at Long Hollow posted a question/answer on the topic of "electrifying emotions".  Being an electrical engineer my training kicked off ideas about real electricity in addition to invigorated inspiration.

My answer contains both electricity and creativity.  I like to create odd "toys" from pieces out of the recycle bin.  Combine an old CD player motor, plastic lids and a very fresh batteries and you get junk in motion.  LED lights from old cellphones add to the display.  Here's one such creation:

Oh if I still have your attention, I occasionally post my blogging thoughts over on I Can't Blog (It's the eye ball blog)

The little robot guy is cute. (But I had to stop it after a few seconds because for some reason I couldn't get the sound to mute and my son was studying in the same room).

Really cool!  I love your "junk bots"!

I add a soundtrack to all my clips.  Actually since I don't typically bother to find free music it can cause a problem with publishing it.  Thanks for watching and the feedback.

extreme - I don't know about that but thank you.  The grandkids do enjoy playing with papa's toys.  The biggest problem with these creations (the toys not the kids) is keeping them from falling apart.

Very creative! The clumsy one cracked me up, but that bunny at the end was just poetry in motion!

I think they're cute! I don't know what it is about robots, but I always think they look like they have very distinct personalities.

I know there is a word for this.  anthropomorphism - I had to look that up.  Just finishing a very interesting book, "The Sorcerers and Their Apprentices"  about MIT Media Lab and there is lots of interesting robot research going on.  I'm not sure my little simple "bots" would even be considered a robot.  thanks
