Hey Bill what did you get for Christmas?
A box of rocks.
It’s a box with rocks glued on inside.
Actually both my older brother and I both got a box of rocks each. I guess no two rocks are exactly the same so we had unique rocks.
Now they were fancy rocks and labeled. It would sound better if I called it a box of minerals I guess. Our uncle taught geology and perhaps wanted to inspire us to consider his studies.
Now that I’m an adult and know companies often offer freebies to influence a professor, I think there is a very good chance he got them for free. I’ll never know the boxes and rocks are long gone.
I’m a little surprised we didn’t throw them at each other.
Mom he hit me with a piece of granite!

You want to get hit by a chunk of calcite - feels flaky soft n' chalky but don't kid yourself, a pound is a pound so generally it is a bad idea to throw ANY type of rocks around glass houses! No cool gifts for me but my wife bought her brother 'BACON TOOTHPASTE' (He's from Kentucky so he was happy!) W.C.C.

Hey my children collect rocks that were sold in packets when we traveled in the US. They were not free.
some rocks are beautiful to behold like the crystal type. Collecting butterflies and insects is better and they don't weigh as much.
