Lisleman reads some news

First up -  a story from the Chicago Tribune about some fishing.

Other than the stinking Illinois politicians the fishy stories that have been in the news around here are the Asian Carp invasion.  I posted about it and the battle continues.

No this fishing tale is even stranger.

A boy fishing in Lake County reels in what appears to be part of body.  It got within about 3 ft of his boat and slipped back into the water.  They called the authorities.  (The article doesn’t say if he lost his lunch too but it would be gross)

Lake County Sheriff dept. searches the lake with drivers for over 8 hours.  Here’s what they found:

A Halloween prop!  (better result than a real body part)

This second item comes from the Ozark County Times (Aug. 17, 2011 edition).

I discovered this paper last year when I visited my lives-in-the-middle-of-nowhere brother.  (here’s that post)

I was sure to pickup the latest copy during my recent visit.  Here’s a recent Sheriff report item for Aug. 14 (CR stands for County Road):
6:24 p.m. - Threats.  CR 818/829.  Caller says his girlfriend’s soon-to-be-ex-husband has been calling and threatening him saying that he and his cousins are going to bury caller in the woods.  Report taken.
Wow - so few words and so many questions.
First observation - caller is dating a married woman.  Question 1 - does soon-to-be-ex-husband know he is getting divorced?  Question 2 - why does husband need to his cousins for digging?

Lastly a suggest response for this caller  -
Thank the soon-to-be-ex-husband for offering free future funeral arrangements and ask which wooded locations did he have in mind.  Also does his offer include a grave marker.

They sound super concerned about it.

Wow that foot would have scared me too especially since it is so gray?? Make for a good Halloween gag though dumping a bunch of random body parts in the local water supply! Probably get me for littering though and wouldn't think it is too funny? Fun Post! W.C.C.

No we don't need anymore zombie gags.  Did you hear about some minor car accident that was initially thought to be more severe because the passengers were dressed as zombies?  It probably was last Oct.
thanks.

Dexter has been spotted in the area

you know your comment could apply to both stories.  Other than being strange I didn't think the stories were connected much.  thanks

Ew, ew, ew! Maybe it's because I've never actually seen a severed body part, but that looks real to me.

Good timing, since I just read a story yesterday about a foot washing up on a beach in Canada. A real one.

I had not heard about the foot on the beach.  Shark left-overs?  That would certainly ruin a day at the beach.
thanks

Is that part of a statue or a prosthetic leg or what?
