Belly fat fragments

I know that belly fat ad I see all over the internet (who knows, it might run here again) is targeted towards women. As a guy I would never call it belly fat. It’s a beer gut or maybe a beer belly. I mean if you didn’t enjoy beer on your way to that shape, wow what a shame. Love handle Larry lounging lengthwise in a limo, lives the life.

Don’t worry these fragments are non fattening and might even exercise a few brain cells.

It’s still a little cold here so I download this photo of the day (National Geographic) as my desktop picture (I would be sweating taking that shot).

How’s a paper napkin for a fragment? I was at Chipotle the other day and notice this written on the napkin:
This napkin is make from 90% post-consumer recycled unbleached paper. It could have been an electricity bill or a parking ticket in its past life. Forgive & forget.
I love it when a little bit of humor pops up unexpectedly. I’m so glad they didn’t mention diapers or toilet paper.

To the regular visitors who have seen the following clip, please excuse me for plugging it one more time. The clip was posted awhile ago and the star blogger in the clip, Pearl, linked to it also. It got a good number of views but then stalled around the count of 85 or so. I expected it would quickly break 100 but not yet so here it is again. I am sure we can get it over 100.

Any Blackberry users out there? I never had one and would never want one. My wife got one through work and she will ask me to help her figure it out occasionally. I was trying to figure out a very basic ring volume change and looked up manuals online. She ended up needing to leave before we got it changed but the whole experience convinced me their interface design is failed.

The picture above is just a favorite of mine that I don’t know much about, other than it shows a cute little cowboy with his cow. I found it back in 2008 on a web site about miniature cattle - here’s the site.

Mrs. 4444 must not have a cow because every Friday she offers FF. There plenty of Friday Fragments to share, you don’t need a horse to ride through the FF posts, just click her badge/button below.

You are too funny Lisleman, thank you for the chuckles, is it already Friday!

I use iphone, and thank goodness I have my children.

Do people still use Blackberry's? It seems with all the Smartphones out there, they are passe.

I prefer the term pot belly to beer gut. Though they are both responsible

lisleman said...

thanks - actually the FF post goes up late Thursday night around here but it is already Friday in many parts of the world.

They market share is less and less but they had a strong hold in the business world so they will be around for awhile.

Yep, I saw that video the last time.

And it just goes to show that we bloggers all think alike. See a simple napkin and you automatically think "blog post". I do it all the time.

lisleman said...

I never thought of the "pot" in "pot belly" to be a cause. It is a description of the shape. Of course, a six-pack and beer gut both related to beer but look very different. thanks

Yeah you are right we collect all these observations for the blog. Just think maybe in the distant future students will study the history of this period by reading our blogs. Hey I need to post something for them.
thanks

I don't have a blackberry but, from what I understand, they're on their way out. I believe the most often-cited complaint was a really bad user interface.

My husband is very particular about his toilet paper. None of the recycled kind in our house! It's amazing what we're able to do with trash, though.

Cute cow! Would make a much better alternative to the lawn mower. Just let him graze away.

Belly fat, blech! What about butt fat, arm fat and thigh fat?! No other names for that to associate with beer, right? Hahahaha.

lisleman said...

don't know about the area where you live, but that mini cow would need to graze my whole neighborhood to have enough to eat. Great idea if you have the right land. Thanks for sharing a comment. Oh I think it produces those tiny coffee creamer sized milk containers.

lisleman said...

LOL - ok you need to text your husband and tell him about your revealing comment about him and then let us know his reaction. thanks

You know you are so good at the Fractured Friday stuff you could do the same thing EVERY DAY on Twitter? Uh Oh, though you would then probably need to get a Blackberry to post on the go - then your wife will promptly throw out a Raspberry your way with a that telling 'I told you so' look! W.C.C.

lisleman said...

thanks but not on twitter. How can anyone leave a thoughtful descriptive comment like yours above on twitter? There is too little space. Blackberry - thing never going to happen. thanks

Lisleman, I received notice from a friend, on my other blog, that she could not comment on my blog. I just wonder, if I were to remove Disqus, say just temporarily, will that be okay?

lisleman said...

I think you can remove it and then reinstall it but you might lose past comments. If your friend can not comment on your blog it might also mean she can not comment on other DISQUS using blogs. If that's the case would you remove it and replace it again and again? If possible you should get your friend to try another DISQUS blog. It could be some software on her computer that needs updating. You should send DISQUS a question about browser support. I like the system enough that I would not remove it for a comment. Oh one more thought - are both of you on FB? If so she can comment on you FB post of the blog post. I told my sisters to just post on FB because they seemed to have a problem with the blog.

Ocean Girl said...

Thank you so much Lisleman. I was just wondering about whether the system could be removed and re-installed.

She had commented before on my posts on DISQUS, she is a blogger friend, we are not on facebook. And when I saw I only have six comments, and none in the last 7 hours, it made me wonder a little but everything seemed find though. Anyways, I am not going to worry about it anymore. One thing that I have just learned, which I did not know before, and have had trouble myself, was I didn't know that to log in or edit profile is by hovering at the DISQUS sign, top right. And we commenters can upload profile picture at Avatar. I can advise my sister now and she can try again.

DISQUS will get better and easier when more people use it. It is so much more efficient once you get going with DISQUS, like I can come here just by clicking your name at my site and I don't have to go through your profile and read your favorite books and movies before clicking on your link ;))

lisleman said...

I enjoy helping. Regarding your last statement about going through the profile - you didn't always go that way did you? I use the profile link sometimes for bloggers I don't visit often or new ones. I prefer going down the list of followed blogs like you have in your sidebar and just clicking over to the blog.

I had a Blackberry at one time and there were several times that I had to do Google searches in order to make an adjustment to the phone. Cute cute photo of the little boy and the cow. haha I'm glad that diapers were not mentioned either! I didn't think about that until you mentioned it.

Those are insanely small cows. I think the reason the belly fat ads are targeted to women is that women are much more critical of their own bodies than men are.

lisleman said...

Interesting I never knew the interface was so unmanageable. thanks

lisleman said...

Your are right about the body image thing but I also find it odd that men (at least that I'm aware of) don't refer to it as belly fat. Same stuff different name. thanks

Binky said...

Fat's fat wherever it is, or whomever it's on. But guys tend to not notice that they've gained 50 lbs, or at least they don't want to admit it to themselves. "I'm not fat, my metabolism has just slowed."

lisleman said...

I tend to agree with Secret Agent Woman and typically it's a slow process of gaining so you don't notice it at first. This might change with younger generations. thanks

Thank you for the smiles! That video is funny!

thanks - good to know you like it.

Hi, Followed you over from your comment at Nancy C's. Wondering how I haven't come across you before...I like your posts. Especially your Blog Forrest Gump one. SO nice to meet you. Going through your archives now.

This is weird: I clicked on at least 6 times to watch and rewatch, to get the short to 100. It has stayed stuck on 98. And I've watched it at least 6 times. Should be over 100, just from me tonight.
VERY STRANGE. won't move beyond 98.

I had a Blackberry long ago in my previous life. Before retirement and the move to Nebraska. I know lots of people who still have their Blackberry.

Starting a post about belly fat is catchy. I like how you say "these fragments are non fattening." You are pretty funny.

It is still cold here too. Two days ago is snowed all day. Then yesterday was warm. Not supposed to be so warm today though.

Have an awesome Sunday, lisleman.

It's nice to get new followers with so much energy and enthusiasm. But really it is just great to get new followers even if they are asleep but hopefully not at the wheel. I just looked at the youtube counter and it reads 110 now. I have noticed that the counter shows different numbers depending on where you she it. Not very precise but hey it's only youtube.
I'll be checking out your blog, Your Highness - thanks

lisleman said...

thanks and glad you made it over here. I got spoiled with getting your thoughtful comments on most every post. Thanks and you have a great Sunday too. Oh, Jene at the original bean will be doing Your Favorite Cover Song on Monday week 3 - you should offer up a k.d. lang cover.

Lisleman, sorry to trouble you again. Didn't you write about DISQUS as a post? May I have the link. Thanks Lisleman.

lisleman said...

I would certainly share the link if I knew which one you are thinking of. BTW - there is a pretty good search function on the sidebar for searching through this blog.
I posted here about switching over to DISQUS and some of the basic features but the longer discussion took place in the comment section of my experimental blog ICB here is the link but you will need to scroll the comments for the DISQUS part (sorry).

I love a little unexpected humor, too, though I never find that kind here (I always expect to laugh when I visit. No pressure or anything, haha)

lisleman said...

A few clowns short always stands behind (way behind it) it's full refund of humor guarantee. Just let me know where to send the laugh track. thanks
