Hall of Fame

There are many halls that bestow recognition to people and things.

Sure we (most Americans anyway) know about the Baseball and Rock & Roll halls of fame.

Here’s two you may not know of:
  • Rodeo Hall of Fame
  • Dance Hall of Fame
Those last two are associated with museums.

This next one just opened up recently.  I remember seeing a highway sign for it:
NASCAR Hall of Fame

The Northeastern Massachusetts Plumbing and Gas Inspectors Association’s web site has a hall of fame page.  I found this extremely interesting picture there.  This picture left me with so many questions.  It certainly should be in a hall of fame because it offers a solution to an ago old problem for both men and women.  No toilet seat issue in this house.

A hall of fame can be just a promotional gimmick, self promotion.  Not that this is bad thing all the time.  In this way they are similar to blogs.

Here’s one I came across today which IMHO doesn’t need to exist.

White Castle’s Hall of Fame.

67 inducted out of 6,629 nominations.  They must be a very selective committee.  I guess it could have been worse.  It could be a hall of flame, since the gas produced can be flammable.  If you check it out, be sure to read about “Steven Luch and Nips the Pig”.  His is a perfect example of the elite people in this hall of fame.

If I started my own hall of fame, say the “Few Clowns Short Hall of Fame”, would it be wrong to put myself in it?

Do I need to establish an academy about it first?  Do I need an actual physical hall?

Lisleman’s Few Clowns Short Basement Corner of Fame might work since I have taken over the area around my basement workbench.

Maybe a “virtual” hall of “virtual” fame would be more fitting?

I’m taking nominations - so let me know.

I have never had a White Castle burger. But if it's a Hall of Famer, I'm clearly missing out.

That candle made it into the hall of fame b/c no one else has ever eatena white castle and then been able to light a match without the whole room going up in flames.

Like Kristina, I have never had a White Castle burger. Don't even know where to get one. Your idea for virtual hall of fame is cute. And what you do is pay someone, oh, say, like me, big bucks to nominate your blog for the virtual hall of fame. I like it.

I had no idea that White Castle had a hall of fame! We haven't had "sliders" in a while, but I do know that they have cool trivia printed on the bottom of the sleeves the burgers come in.

I'm not familiar with many "Halls of Fame", but if it's museums you want, take a trip to Kansas. When we visited my brother in law (he lives there), we were amazed at the number of museums for every/anything. One afternoon, we spent about an hour in the Greyhound Museum (dogs, not buses). That's an hour I'll never get back.

I guess I could pay you in virtual bucks.

So I'm thinking all the great Greyhound dog winners were honored. I've enjoyed dog races and I know there are many dog lovers out there but this seems a little strange to me.

No nominations from me. My husband thinks that all homes should have a urinal. We don't have one. Someday his dream house will have one.

No. I would not consent to living in a house with a urinal. No way.

I don't think you need to worry about this becoming a trend since most house related design/decorating decisions are made by women which is probably a good thing considering the lack of taste some men show.
However if I had the space and opportunity to put one in I would. They are a great invention.
Thanks for sharing your opinion on this odd issue.

Well I agree with him. I'm sure he would want his dream house to be your house too. I'm sure you could trade having the urinal for something you would really like. Any ideas?

Yes, I do think you should put yourself in it, in the category of Humor, of course. Should I know who that is in the first photo? If it's you, I love it :)

Oh, and btw, that is quite a large bathroom. Wow.

Mrs4444 said...

Oh, and we DO have a urinal; it's called the deck.

lisleman said...

well I won't say you should know but yes it's my mug shot ( I borrowed the shades).

lisleman said...

Your deck ? wow that's both interesting and disgusting at the same time. So do the trees and bushes get watered on a regular basis too?

He can have the urinal as long as I don't have to clean it.

There is a place here that makes some amazing urinals in the shapes of flowers and stuff. I wouldn't mind one of those.
