I can go for fragments

(think back - 80's - Hall & Oates)

Easy, ready, willing, overtime
Where does it stop?
Where do you dare me to draw the line?
You've got the body,
now you want my soul
Don't even think about it,
say no go, yeah

I-ahh-ahh, I'll do anything that you want me to-oo,
yeah
I-ahh-ah-ahh do almost anything that you want me to-oo, ooh yeah

But I can't go for that, no no can do

However, a Friday Fragments post doesn't require your soul.  Just a little bit of thought, a post and a link-up over at Mrs. 4444's blog.

I'll included a cover of this Hall & Oates hit song at the bottom of this post.

I've been telling Mother Nature "no, no can do" lately but she is not listening.

yeah I know it's snowing upside down

It's nice when there is a recall that has absolutely no impact on your life. Hot-pockets recall - I could care less.

I doubt any readers come here expecting book reviews (actually I don't know what readers expect here, hopefully to be surprised).  Last year I posted about a Jim Croce book.  The bio his widow wrote was both interesting and a fun trip back to the 70's.  Here's a link to that post.

Currently, I'm reading a very different book (still non-fiction which is my preference) about a physics learning journey.  A dad and his daughter challenge each other on a quest to find answers to big questions such as the beginning of the universe.  I enjoy physics and the approach taken this curious non-physicist young woman has been a good read.  She works herself into global theoretical physics conferences by posing as a journalist.  The book is full of information.  The title is "Trespassing on Einstein's Lawn".  (a link

Having worked too many years in the cubicle jungles called offices (too much time in those and you start to act more prairie dog than human) gave me an appreciation of a website I learned about from a radio show.  If you have had any amount of teleconferencing experience suffering, you'll probably enjoy this site called conferencecall.biz  (you need to listen to it - presentation is all audio).  It will be a win-win.

Half-Past Kissin' Time

Have you heard of "Live from Daryl’s House"? I stumbled onto it during a youtube journey. Really going onto youtube is always a lengthy journey for me. The suggested clips never stop you know. Daryl Hall of the famous Hall & Oates started recording jam sessions at his home studio. His guests include many of the top performers of yesterday and today. Here's a clip of that song I started this post with, covered by Cee Lo Green. (there is a long intro - about a minute)

I'm a fan of Jim Croce, and I, too, enjoy reading non-fiction. I'll have to check out the book written by his widow!

Ack, I have no Hall and Oates lyrics to lob at you... well not off the top of my head.

Thankfully, I didn't do a lot of conference calling when I worked in cubicle land. The character looks like a Minecraft guy! I don't think I have ever heard of that band and I do try to avoid non-fiction if I can help it ;-) I let hubby read those for me!

Sounds like a very interesting book although I am not very scientific.

Part of it is the story of her and her family which is just life relationship stuff and then you have the physics and metaphysics. She gets very deep into pondering existence and reality. I'm only about halfway through it. It's an interesting approach to physics.

avoid non-fiction? Hmm, I never thought of it that way but maybe I avoid fiction. Historical fiction is somewhat of a bridge between the two. You didn't miss anything by not being on conferences. thanks

Wow throwing Hall and Oates at each other - that could be a new drinking game. thanks

Let me know what you think of it. A very interesting and sad story. On the positive side, his widow was able to pickup do quite well for herself. thanks

I also am a Jim Croce fan and would enjoy that book. A.J. Croce was in town last week for a concert. Some of my favorite pictures of Croce were with his son.
Youtube is fun to hang around on but you are right...one thing leads to another and time flies by. I don't get on it, unless I have some extra time.

I have long suspected that the ingredients in Hot Pockets were inedible. I have tried eating one or two when I was younger. Not something I want to attempt again.

I completely agree with you about those tasteless pieces of waste. Maybe they will just take them off the market.
thanks

Did you see A.J. Croce? Overall, I find better things on youtube than cable TV channels. thanks

Oh yes, I am not at all affected by the Hot Pockets recall! Thankfully we haven't had those in the house in a very long time. I do remember eating them as a kid, though, and you could never get the temperature right throughout that thing! It was always scalding hot in one part of the pocket and then freezing cold in another part. Good riddance!

I loved, Loved, LOVED Hall & Oates as a teen and I didn't know about Daryl's house. So cool! I am interested in that book! I mostly read Fiction (In the rare moments I have time to read!) but one of my favorite reads was a non-fiction "The Anthropologist on Mars". I like when there is a very personal lead-in to the story.
Enjoy your weekend!

I agree one of the worst food products ever sold. Not that they are much better but corn dogs look healthy and tasty compared to hot pockets. thanks

Let me know if you check out the book. It appears most all of the Daryl's house sessions are on youtube.
thanks

That sounds like a good book! I still haven't read the Jim Croce one - thanks for reminding us.

I'm a huge Hall & Oats fan and saw them in concert a few time back in the day... And Jim Crose was terrific too. I'm having flashback to my youth. Ha!
Happy weekend, jj

I feel honored to provide you a flashback. thanks

It's not a book for everyone. Lots of deep thoughts about the universe and philosophy in it. thanks
