sounds weird I think

Someone told me long ago
There’s a calm before the storm
I know; it’s been comin’ for sometime
When it's over, so they say,
It'll rain a sunny day,
I know; Shinin' down like water.

I suspect tangents pop into other minds like they do in my mind. Who knows? Today I will follow a tangent or two. (even if you never mastered geometry, you must of have experience the tangent popping up in a conversation) So like the geometrical tangent these thoughts fly from the circle of thought never to return to the circle.

Consider the weather. We seem to talk (complain mostly) about it often. I have an in-law that obsesses over the weather and then shares her knowledge with anyone in eye shot.  Weather reports are part of all the local newscasts. It’s the basis for a popular website and cable channel. Do our concerns and interest in the weather come from how often it’s uncomfortable? Occasionally it can even be life threatening.

Sun is cold and rain is hard,
I know; Been that way for all my time.

I believe mankind has benefited from crappy weather. Had the weather always been warm and comfortable as it typically is in the tropics, we would not have the heating and air conditioning systems of today. We might be living in huts ordered from IKEA. (honey, look at the Jones they still have not figured out how to assemble their hut)

Also, the best thing since slice bread, the snuggie, would have never been invented.

at the snuggie store - on your wish list??

I want to know, have you ever seen the rain?

Mention of CCR (Central Contractor Registration) sent two of three of the township's trustees into fits and gales of laughter, ten years ago. They never shared their little CCR secret. CCR has morphed into ASAP, SAM and IPP, which brings no reaction from the two of them. The group will always be Creedence Clearwater Revival to me.

Now that I think about I don't remember calling them CCR much. I think we just called them Creedence. thanks

Love that CCR song.

Snuggies, not so much. They seem like an announcement that you've just given up.

I was never good at geometry, so you lost me as soon as you mentioned the word. LOL
I love that song and it is now stuck in my head. =}

Even if you didn't follow the tangent, at least you enjoyed the song so my job is complete. thanks

It's one of my favorites. I'm happy to say I do NOT own a snuggie. thanks

Yikes, that Snuggie is just wrong..on so many levels.

Here in Kansas City, our news programs would only last about 5 minutes if we didn't have the weather to talk about.

I do find the weather reports on the local news worthwhile but often I'm distracted by the weather girl's looks. I'm not sure if her appearance is news worthy. I bet the TV station would get a big reaction if the weather girl gave the report in a snuggie.
thanks

The snuggie just gave me the heebies. As for bad weather, I grew up in a rainy as hell country and I would like you to know I am over rain forever. Sure, it makes things grow. It also gets your hair wet and frizzy and makes you smell like damp dog. So there.

Good to hear you don't smell like a damp dog with frizzy hair. (I did read that - right?) Hey, come anytime for your dose of heebies. I recall another comment from you about getting heebies. Hell, I didn't even know I was passing them out.
thanks

I love that song. My Mum is obsessive about the weather too. When it's hot she wishes it would rain to cool things down. When it's wet she wishes it was sunny. Plus it's never like the weather report said. "They said it was gunna be fie today & it's raining" I always tell her they predict the weather not control it. My wife's father is obsessive about measuring rainfall. He must get his rainfall measurements each day without fail & has them all recorded for every day going back for decades. He went on a trip to England last year & a young bloke house sat for him. When he got home 6 weeks later he was horrified that Lochie forgot to record the rain fall for those 6 weeks (even if theres no rain that day it has to be recorded as 0)
