friday fragments at the blog shack

Mrs. 4444’s blog shack is a little old place where FF posts get together. You should head down to her blog shack and bring your comments.

Getting together at a blog shack is as easy as pointing and clicking your cursor. You don't even need to bang on the door baby.

Half-Past Kissin' Time

You know the saying about walking in my shoes. Well women tend to have way more shoes than men that is why men don’t understand them.

Remember back when superman wore his red underwear on the outside? We didn’t have smartphone rudeness back then. People would actually look at you when you talked to them instead of face down flicking pixels on a screen. (ok there were times when a girl had a low cut sweater I might look down a bit but that’s whole different post).

FB, twitter, pinterest, instagram - which one is to blame for your lack of blog commitment? Nice people in real life can become rude a-holes on social media. I myself was too quick to share a dumb fake news clip from Onion (you know that satire fake news site) the other day. It wasn't really that funny and upset someone close. We all need better delays in our click of send/post buttons.

Company and product names offer a minor distracting mind activity if you bother to think about them. I was thinking of changing my fake company from C.F. Eyecare to I.C. Robots. Do you think I could get Will.i.am to sponsor me?

The marketing world is weird and often a big drain on a company’s budget. Money wasted on name selection and packaging should be spent on making a better product and maybe customer service. Promotion is necessary but does naming a spray Axe matter that much to its success? Really just using a random word generator for free I can come up with names like Spor, Bux, and Xid. Those three names would have cost less than a bottle of the spray.

I have no idea why I went off on a tangent here. It started because I heard of a recent case of Axe overload. Too much Axe spray set off a fire alarm at Middletown High School. A student's desire to smell good and attract girls overpowered his spraying routine.  He over-sprayed himself in the locker room. Apparently he got the attention of the firemen. How embarrassing!

Oh if my title started you dancing to the B-52's Love Shack, then enjoy this clip:

Hey if you enjoyed your visit at my blog shack today, please let me know in the comment section. Also it would be great if you told a friend about the place. I don't want to become A Few Clicks Short of a Pageview.

What fun reading your post. It's nice to find someone with a great sense of humor. This was my first time to post on this meme...Carmen's Chronicles.

Oh . . . Axe. On the one hand, I'm looking forward to the time when my 10-year-old boy cares how he smells. On the other hand, there is Axe. It's EVERYWHERE.

Teach your son the difference between quality and quantity. Too much quantity of body spray is a disaster. thanks

Yes the squirrels here seem to enjoy lounging around on the deck rail and tree limbs. thanks

I heard about the Axe accident! I was listening to NPR's show, No, No, Don't Tell Me. I love it! Love it!

Social media does remove a lot of people's inhibitions for sure. The flip side of that coin is that readers can misunderstand what the writer meant or the spirit of what someone wrote. What may be a joke is often taken as serious.

I favor the C.F Eyecare. for a fake company name.

Does the dog need to go to rehab? Or is he just celebrating a special event?

You are among a few readers of this blog listening to the NPR show. I've been a big fan of that show for many years and even saw a live performance of it. It's Wait Wait Don't Tell Me.

The dog belongs to our daughter and they were just having fun posing him one day long ago. The FB posting I did that was later regretted was a joke and taken the wrong way. thanks

Oh yes. I got the title wrong. I used to listen to it in the States often. A few weeks ago, I wanted to rest, not sleep. I listened to a few episodes online. Great show. I also liked Car Talk a lot.

Seeing money waste or at least spent in way that I wouldn't approve has bother me before too. I've seen big egos blow budgets too.
thanks

I used to live with my best friend after I separated from my first husband. We used to jokingly call her house The Love Shack. That was when the song was big. I know that sounds bad, but it really wasn't much of a love shack. Love the squirrel pic! Looks like a pretty good-natured dog too.

Calling it the love shack I suspect was an inside joke. It's much better than calling it the divorce shack. The dog belongs to our daughter and they were just having fun posing him one day long ago. She's a good dog but like many little dogs a bit yappy.
thanks

That's known as an axehole, Bill. Isn't that perfect? I love it.
Loved the LoveShack reference, too :) Thanks for linking up! Hope you're having a great weekend.

axehole - did you just create that one? That's a good one. Thanks it's been a good weekend.

We've been using it for years at my house, but I don't recall where we got the expression from. It's perfect.
