Did you know “Girl Friday” (expression is not used much today) came from “Man Friday”? For extra points where did “Man Friday” first appear? Hey, guess before googling.
I don’t know if Mrs. 4444 ever considered herself a “Girl Friday”, but she is a key player for many blogs on Fridays. If you don’t know, she collects Friday Fragments.

Internet stuff is always changing. Some changes are for the better. I noticed a new button while viewing a photo on my G+ albums. It was called “Creative Kit”. Maybe it replaced the edit tool google had provided in Picasa (forgot the name - picnic?). I gave it a quick click and then a few more. Here’s what I ended up with in only a matter of minutes.
Last weekend I slipped on an old sweater that has not left my dresser drawer for many winters. Good thing I was not going furniture shopping because I would have blended in too well. I was a walking soft good looking sofa pattern.
Often something (post on exhaustion, relative’s birthday, bills due) triggers my dislike for deadlines and schedules. Deadlines are useful to a certain level but really aren’t they all man made except for one? The deadline that leaves you actually dead is only one that really matters in the end.

I'm not much on deadlines unless it makes the difference of me getting paid or not.
Did you get my invitation to the now-hidden blog? If not, email me at undergroundblog11@gmail.com and I'll re-send it.
I don't think I did. thanks
Tax deadlines are good to remember, too. And the first question? Robinson Crusoe.
Thanks for the info about Creative Kit--I haven't been in Google+ for awhile.
yes from that 1700's book. Even the tax deadline is man-made. It's just there are many men and women around to enforce it.
I don't have many deadlines anymore, unless they are self-imposed. Now I do that so I accomplish something. Once you are retired and have "endless" time to do projects, it's easy to procrastinate and play around on the computer.
Sounds like a Cosby sweater. I like the G+ creative kit and that's a cute pic!
yeah I guess "Cosby" wore those on his show. To be as funny as him would be great. thanks
Isn't procrastinate a skill? I understand your point but it just seems odd to me that some people get themselves so wrapped up in too many things and then they complain about being overloaded. Since my engineering career was very intertwined with computers and internet I seldom view time on the computer as play. Even blogs can educate. thanks for sharing your thought
Cute set of fragments! Well done!
Your falling dream photo cracked me up.
But the deadlines comment got me thinking--- I used to work at a daily newspaper and I knew what time it was based on how fast people were moving-- The closer wer got to deadline/print, the faster everyone moved. When I retired that's the one thing I missed the most. Strange, now that I think of it. Oh well...
happy weekend, jj
"Good thing it wasn’t the mafia hit-man school." Now that made me laugh! On deadlines... they stress me out but honestly, as a terrible procrastinator, I probably wouldn't accomplish anything if there wasn't a deadline for it!
Actually, I work best under pressure - sadly, now I don't have any, I hadly get anything acomplished! My working day used to be run by the to-do list I made up the night before, maybe I should carry that practice through to my home life?
Love the pic, it made me smile. Now I want, nay demand, to see a pic of you in that old sweater..
Oh, oh I know this one!!! (wavin' hand wildly in the air) It was from that wonderful childhood movie Robinson Crusoe. Shoot, I knew all that TV time would pay off sooner or later!So...what's the prize??? One million big ones??? A new car??? Candy-bar???I work best under deadlines...well...'cept the one tht actually leave ya dead. Heeehehehehe!God bless ya Man and have yourself one wonderful weekend!!! :o)
Yes (actually there was book first) the guy on the island before people started voting people off islands. Since you are so excited, I'm awarding you 2 A-Few-Clowns-Short points. Now if you want to learn more about this exciting award program check out this post from months ago.

that old sweater - You could just go to a second hand store and take a picture of a couch with an outdated pattern. Maybe I should do a giveaway with it. Ok let's switch to that other topic. Under pressure and to-do lists are two things I hate (that sweater might be a third). People certainly have differently wired brains because I feel I do much better work when I'm not rushed or pressured. I understand certain things need to get done in a timely manner but often I question the reason behind a schedule.
Seriously you miss deadlines? Is it a misconception of mine that most bloggers are laid back and relaxed types? I'm happy to see you liked the falling dream photo - I had fun making it.
Thanks - I love to score a laugh. "accomplish anything" - This brings up a topic of much argument between my wife and I. I set the "anything" bar really low. Hey you didn't write "accomplish great things". You know, you have given me an idea or concept. Accomplish Simple - maybe I should make a poster.
I'm going to miss Picnik I hope google + creative kit is easy to use. I haven't played around with it yet.
Have a wonderful weekend!
I'm guessing it might be much of the same program. Thanks, I thought it sounded link picnic.
I often have speech bubbles over my head when I sleep. I had no idea others did too.
Not surprising you typically have something over your head. So your husband can read your dreams if he stays awake.
Booger, I knew that!!! I read the book too, since I was young I've always loved to compare how the movie stacks up to the book. It's just the way I fly!!! :o)
