I got a surprise package in the mail. (hope our postal service stays around for a long time)
My anniversary of first breathing air is coming up so when I saw who the sender was, I was able to deduce it was a gift. I was right. I should have taken a picture of the tape job but then my little sister might think I was making fun of her. Nothing new there. I like to say we laugh together.

Turns out the gift is a combo gift from both older and younger sister. They happened to be shopping together which is unusual since they live states apart.
But what is totally unbelievable (you’ll see in the picture below) is how similar this odd gift is to the odd gift my daughter gave me for Christmas. Now these two odd gifts were purchased in different states too. Also my sisters had not heard or seen anything about my Christmas gift. I have not strolled a craft fair in a long time so maybe this type of metal creature is popular.

Here’s the surprise gift from my sisters:
They look good together, don’t you think?
I also deduced that I must be good at letting others know of my fondness of odd things.

These oddities were meant to find their way to you.
They know you so well. The gifts are perfect for you. Happy Early Birthday, Bill!
LOL, U.M.! :)
Aren't they nuts? I love them!
Love that they both obvious know you well.....great gifts and a story too! Have a wonderful weekend!
Nothing shocking. Your daughter and sisters both know you are a weirdo. Happy Upcoming Breathing Anniversary.
nuts - the gift givers or the metal creatures? various metal pieces welded together.
thanks glad you enjoyed the story
thanks - I'm easy to figure out
thanks - your comment has me thinking of a pot, a kettle and the color black. Breathing Anniversaries are best.
This is destiny ? Now I will be pondering the deeper meaning of all this. thanks
Love them! They obviously think of you in similar ways! :-) Happy Birthday Bill!
yes - thanks for the nice wish
very funny and probably the gifts you'll remember the most, sugar! happy birthday!
xoxoxoxox
Now that I think about it I'm starting to collect a number of unusual gifts. thanks
They were clearly meant to be a couple.
Another destiny comment - well I don't know about that but I will say they go together like a matched set. My daughter told me she can tell they were created by different artists. Given their sources they probably were. thanks
Birds of a feather . . .
Can you tell if they were made by the same artisan? It looks like they MUST have been - - - I mean, both of them seem to have mouths made of objects that look like bottle tops - - -
They look great together but the first one looks like it's a good tool to scratch your back! :)
They actually look charming!
too sharp unless you are into scars. thanks
They are both so cute (and odd!) Happy birthday!!
Ha ha! they are almost like twins. Reminds me of those stories of twins separated at birth and then they found each other again. :D
That is hilarious. You must be very easy to shop for!
Speaking of metal things, have you ever read the story of Beyonce, the Giant Metal Chicken?

I was totally unaware of the 5 ft. metal chickens. How did I miss that? My metal creatures are less than a foot so they can easily be displayed on a shelf, table, night stand, bathroom counter, china cabinet.
thanks for the link
Wow, they must be by the same artist, thats way to close to be two different people or one of them is in trouble for copying
I don't think a figurine gets copyright protection. thanks
