till the fragments come home

Wisconsin is the dairy state.

It is also the state from which Friday Fragments originated.  Now I don't really know if Mrs. 4444 parties until all the fragments come home but she does collect and give them a home.  So wander on over to her place and bring your fragments.

Mommy's Idea

My wife picked up a couple of cows (toys - neither of us could pick up a cow) at Chick-fil-a the other day. They were kinda friendly so I had them do a photoshoot (oh you can click on picture to enlarge them). Remember that cow theme fashion thing going on years ago? What happened to all the cow themed kitchen stuff?

The creepy King has been dethroned. Burger King announced it’s dropping their King mascot. They are now planning to show good food items in their ads. Gee do they sell food or royalty costumes? I’m going to miss their King. I found his creepiness funny.  But cows are not creepy.

“I feel like Charlie Sheen –
stupid and a winner at the same time.”

That’s the comment I wrote to Bearman after I found that I won having my caricature drawn in his giveaway. I like it. What do you think?

park your man - IKEA man land

I’m not real sure about IKEA marketing. With pride I’ll tell you I have never stepped foot inside an IKEA (I did meet someone in their parking lot once).

What message is your wife sending you when she wants to park you in the IKEA man land? Doesn’t she trust enough to allow you to just hang out at Home Depot or Bass Pro shop? Maybe Bass Pro shop should fight back with their own woman land. Never mind, that would attract males. We are all forgetful at times and shopping offers many distractions so this “manly daycare” might result in a few guys feeling left unwanted.

Our Comcast (oh yeah Xfinity - I almost forgot their hip name) service dropped this week. Again! I reminded the customer rep that I had just called about two weeks ago for the same reason. She looked up my record and confirmed that I did. Oh how I wish I could just see my complete record of complaints with them.

Besides the hassle of calling in, at least this time the response was more cooperative. I told her that and said compared to last time she was much more helpful. When she checked my last call she told me she would credit our account for that one too. Honestly, I don’t want the credits. I want better reliable service.

I'm glad the Burger King is dethroned; I never did like him and always thought that was a horrible ad campaign. Using the food in the advertisements I bet will be an improvement.

Nice cows.  :-)  I have a friend whose mother decided a long time ago that he collected cows.  He doesn't.  But every Christmas, he gets another cow to add to his growing pile of cows.

Hey, and sorry I didn't join in on the links!  The concert I've been practicing for is Sunday, and then again Tuesday, and I've been a little nuts with all the prep.  Next time!!

The cows are awesome!  Will they be the new mascots of AFCSOAC?

I've never been to IKEA, but I don't think I would need to leave my husband in the man-care area if we shopped there.

Comcast....we have it, too.  Our service is pretty reliable, but I think it's overpriced.  I also don't understand the Xfinity thing.  Why two names?

I love Chick-fil-a's marketing with the cows. Bruger King?  Not so much.  the King is creepy yet fascinating.  I won't miss him though. Sorry to hear about the problems with Comcast.  We have the same service, but so far, so good!  Have a great weekend!

I'm having so many issues with my internet service lately and it is annoying to have to call. I just want it to work.

The King is totally weird. I'm disturbed and fascinated by him. He did not however induce me to eat at BK.

thanks for sharing your comment.  I didn't know you did concerts.  Not on the bus though - right?
"pile of cows" leaves me with an imagine of another type of cow pile.

Funny you should ask about a new mascot.  While the cows may reappear from time to time, what I thought of doing was using my caricature in a new button/badge/bladge.
Xfinity - market consulting work that I bet they overpaid for.

Cows are good.  Kings not so much.  thanks

On the subject of burgers, do you like In-N-Out?  We ate at one while visiting CA once.  It was good but I failed to understand any great appeal.  I'll try to remember to post about my uncle and In-N-Out - funny story.
Weird?  Check out this BK sponsored site for weird.  Be sure to click the spray bottle until you see the King.  funny weird

The King is so creepy because he never changes expression.  That's always creepy to me.  But I love the caricature!  I don't know how accurate it is, since i don't know what you look like, but the clown thing is cool.

And i love CF's ads.  And I'm close to Wisconsin---on the other end of it, and cows are cool.  It's funny that a mom would decided her kid collects cows..... talk about failure to communicate.

cow collecting - oh yeah Pearl's comment - great that you read through the comments.  There are often better than the post.  Yes I guess the UP and Wisconsin share cold fronts together.  By your creepy definition, all masks would  be creepy then. thanks - oh and let us know when the snow starts.  Some may want to start running south.

The King is freaking gross....I like the cows...we don't have Chick-fil-a here....some reason I want fries now....
Have a good weekend!

I'm a big Chick-fil-a fan.  I wish they had them in California but I enjoy their food when I'm in Ohio.

I was never a BK King fan.  I just didn't get it and always wondered who the marketing guru was that sold them that idea.  The only worse mascot I can think of is that creepy Got Milk Rock Star guy.  I don't get him at all.

Love the cows!  jj

I think you were blog reading before you ate.   Sorry about the fries, I finished them.  thanks

lisleman said...

I had to look up that Got Milk Rockstar.  I have never seen it.  Have you been watching too much MTV and VH1 ?  The one I found on youtube had a creepy type dude with a guitar full of milk which is very dumb.
thanks for enriching my ad knowledge.

thanks for checking it out.  Apparently Bearman likes to put things in our hands.  I'm glad I got a horn instead of a syringe like you did.

Your intro is one of the more creative ones I've read! Very nice. Thanks for joining in.

Glad to know the king is on his way out. That photo is hilarious, though.

I love those cows in the photos.  As a spec ed teacher, I find them especially amusing.

Hope you're having a great weekend!

Busy weekend with some road time.  I don't quite get the cow picture - spec ed connection but that's OK.  I thought there were funny too.  I almost took one shot of a compromising position but thought well I'm not in 8th grade anymore.
thanks all the best

I like the cows. Bearman did an awesome job of your caricature, both of them. Tat Burger King guy is just so creepy, I'm surprisd they sold any burgers with him as a mascot. Here in Tasmania, & Australia, Burger King is called Hungry Jack's so we never had the creepy King make an appearance here.

pearlvz said...

No, not on the bus.

Not yet...

Yes, I play with the Minnetonka Community Band (not sure if that's the actual name, but something like that). We played last night, and then one more concert Tuesday and then that's it until March. Forty-piece band, very exciting. :-) Honestly, I love it.

I wonder why they (a-few-clowns-short-of-a-circus) stuck the creepy king with us in the states?  thanks for sharing your comment.

tracismixedbag said...

mmm chik-fil-a. Speaking of CS, I saw him on The Wendy Williams show and he actually seemed to have got it together. He even said that those things he said were dumb. Go figure. Did you happen to watch the roast or hear about it. It was majorly ina-pro-pro, but soooo funny.  Yes, the king was creepy in a nightclub, creepy guy (or girl) trying to dance on you kind of way.  BTW that is one cool caricature.  LOL on the man land, Big props to the men that actually go to the store, my husband will not, he will stay in the car. I know they said for father's day, I wonder if they decided to keep it. I would love to try to convince my husband to go.

thanks about the caricature
