road trip update

As I drove the hundreds of miles down the interstate I wondered what would win?
bladder filling vs. gas tank draining

Today we expect internet access at the hotel. If not in our rooms at least a public computer in the lobby. The web access is very helpful when you’re visiting another country. We made good use of email on the lobby computer in Cusco Peru years ago.

Right now I sitting in my room checking the weather radar and waiting for that break in the rain patterns I’m seeing on the radar map.

This trip has taken me from one end of Tennessee to the other. It is a very beautiful green alpine state. The mountains are my favorite section but I seem to always catch some rain passing through them. I drove through downpours in both directions this time.

This next picture was taken at a very nice park in Stallings NC., that has one strange restriction.

Now it’s been many years since any of my kids were wheeling around a tricycle, but I never found those small bikes to be very threatening to anything. I truly don’t understand the reason for this strict rule. It might scare off tricycle riding because among the many kids playing at the park I did not see one tricycle.

Have you used Wi-Fi at McDonalds yet? I’ve had good experiences with it. You just need to think ahead about eating those fries so ketchup and special sauce doesn’t drip on your keyboard. Eating and typing are conflicting activities.

I really enjoy Wi-Fi on airlines. I am bias because of my past career.

I don't think I've ever used my computer at a McDonalds. Awesome.

I forgot to mention there were no kids with me. I think that would be a problem for getting any time on the web.

Love that Mac's Wi-Fi. I stop there even if I don't want the food when I am on the road just so I can post to the blog. Tennesee is a beautiful state but most of my time has been spent in Nashville. Have a great Vacation! W.C.C.

Amazing how times have changed. I recently moderated my comments via my mobile while I was in Natal...

Since McDonalds is competing with Starbucks over frothy coffees, it would be the next step for McD's to have internet connection too. I can't think of a reason for "No Tricycles" either. Does that mean bicycles and motorcycles are okay?

WiFi on airplanes?!?!?! How'd I miss that?

Driving in downpours is no fun. Be careful out there.

Cheers, jj

The sign is particularly funny because I would venture most tricycle riders are not yet readers. Though I guess they'd have parents with them, who presumably could read...

We pretended we were staying in a strict "WI-FI FOR GUESTS ONLY" hotel in London because our cheap place didn't have it a couple of years ago. Acting + blog posting = great fun.

I don't supposed it's possible that they mean motorized three-wheelers? Or maybe the sign is a joke.
