I wish everyone a great Mother's Day.
Even though my mom is no longer around, my memories of her are my fondest memories. Of those memories the laughs can still bring me a smile.
Thinking of laughs - here's my post from last Mother's Day which is still worth a look.
For all of you, supermoms out there - have a great Mother's day.
Do you know who Anna Jarvis is? She is credited with founding Mother's Day in the US. I think she would be shocked and upset if she were here for Mother's Day 2009. She was angered by printed cards back in her day (hand written was the proper way). Can you imagine what she would think of an e-card?
Not sure, but I suspect there are more mommy blogs than daddy blogs. Well on one of them I came across this Mother theme site called Mamapalooza. It looks fun.
On the Mamapalooza site I found this funny clip - enjoy Happy Mother's Day.

Thanks for the chuckles.
Thank you for the wishes lisleman and your old post is very funny indeed.
Ms Jarvis would definitely be shocked if she saw the commercialization of Mother's Day today-- But I think she would be happy to know how many people actually take the time to make a phone call and/or visit their mom too.
Hope all is well in your world. Enjoy the rest of the weekend,
jj
Probably when Mothers Day was initiated in the US, mothers and their grown children didn't live so far away from each other like they do now. I like it that you say your memories of your mom include lots of laughs. How cool!
you're welcome and enjoy your dad
you're welcome and enjoy your day
good point thanks
thanks - yes it is cool but of course there are other sad memories too. I'm fortunate that she instilled the idea of being positive when times were difficult. The idea and practice of laughing about things later is part of that.
Funny. Have you seen this one?

yes I have. That's a great one and there are few classics that should be background music during the morning rush to get everyone on their way. The Flight of the Bumble Bee is one that comes to mind. Also, if you are off to some serious stuff maybe the Ride of Valkyries.
Ecards. Don't get me started.
