The above picture reminds me of one my wife took of me (see below). The guy above was the Italian philosopher, Bruno. He was burned at the stake. I wonder if I could hold to my convictions enough to suffer death for them.
I want to move on from my last bottom dwelling post. I don't want to dwell on it, but I do dwell on universal questions at times. Wouldn't it be cool to get paid as a philosopher. I'd set up shop at a bar. Nothing like a little drink to get the thoughts pouring out on to the floor.
I have always wondered about the world. I thought everyone did.
I was not medicated as a child, but I ate some dog food once. Well actually it was a dog treat. You know those milk-bone treats?
I was curious why our dog liked them and was even willing to do tricks for them. I still don't know why our dog ate them. They didn't taste like a treat to me. I missed my chance to publish my philosophy of dog treats.
I just finished an interesting thought provoking article in Scientific American. I will post about it soon but I want to dwell on it a little. But I don't want to dwell on the bottom.
Oh that picture - here -

Jeepers! I'd be afraid to stand too close to such an ominous figure ... what was the statue depicting? Was it a grave?
Mmmm .. I wonder, would your life be different today if you DID like the dog treats you tested as a child?
Woof?
The great thing about being a philosopher is no one can prove you wrong. But a bar is a bad location—every bar in the world is full of philosophers. They're called drunks.
It's good to see you unmasked and to know you're just a regular guy like the rest of us. Did you have a pocket slide rule in your pocket in that photo?
As far as Milk Bones go, I think Martha sneaks them in in her Milk Bone Surprise casserole.
yes it was a cemetery here in Chicago. I forgot whose gave but they certainly died with some extra coins. Now that woof question is very unique and one I didn't consider. I don't imagine that habit would have helped much on the dating scene. Talk about dog breath.
thanks
I can tell you beyond a shadow of a doubt that there is nothing I believe in strongly enough to be tortured for it. Unless it were to save my kids's lives.
Maybe the drunk philosophers gave me the idea.
Ah the shirt pocket? No I don't remember carrying anything and I don't think I was happy to see anyone.
Milk Bone casserole - who let the dogs out?
That statue looks like Dracula, the Bella Lugosi variety.
You should have been wearing a Snuggie and holding it up like the statue and it could be called "Snuggie Earthlings" or something like that.
great idea - a light green snuggie might match
You never know until you are called but I remember thinking about this when I was in Air Force. thanks for sharing a comment
I've long had a mental image of our planet and solar system being the a bit of ash in the bin tray of the fireplace of some other life form...
kid in our neighborhood once ate "doggy donuts" treats. I may or may not have tried a bite.
I ate a dog treat as a child too. It was shaped like a large cheerio. I think I liked it. I suppose that could explain a lot.
do you plan on going into politics? Your comment reminds me Bill Clinton statements.
That's a great image that shows how minor we are.
Did you see the MIB movies? The end (first one I think) had our world in game of marbles.
Is that the Grim Reaper you're standing next to?
I also wondered why dogs got so excited about their treats and ate one once. It wasn't all that. It didn't taste any different from their regular kibble. You'd think they could make them taste like ice cream or steak.
Maybe ice cream AND steak. Actually I think you could mix anything with steak and a dog would like it. Grim Reaper, Death, take your pick. I don't know the official name but it makes for interesting cemetery scenes.
Interesting, you're the second person to suggest the Men in Black films to me; I haven't yet, but now I will!
That statue would creep me out! Doggie treats are the best...for my dog.
I like to think of myself as a prophet in training.
