friday fragments still fragment me

I’m still crazy after all these FF posts. How long has this been going on, you ask. According to Mrs. 4444’s FF log this one is number 270. I have not done that many. I have posted well over 100 FF posts since 2010.  A period of 3 years in internet time is an like an epoch or eon or era or age or some long stretch of youtube clips. Trends come and go FASTER than ever which is good news if you think about Miley Cyrus. Let’s not and get on with the fragments.

I’m blogging barefoot at the moment. We are having nice weather and my feet are clean.

I don't remember where I spotted this key chain maybe on G+.  It highlights a pet peeve of mine.  Why do so many (are Americans the worst?) know so little geography?

words with friends
I’ve heard of it and I have played the non-digital version of scrabble many times. Scrabble can be fun but it seems playing words with friends when they are not physically there to interact would lead to cheating.

Would we better off if we had words with enemies?

Wedding insurance
Did you know it existed? It’s not insurance for protecting guys from getting married. No it pays if things go wrong with the event. According to Travelers the most common vendor type claim is related to photographer problems (did the couple imagine looking better than they really did?). Change of heart is NOT covered. Liquor liability coverage may be added which has me wondering if frat houses buy this type of insurance.  They should.

this is NOT Lisleman even though my family may think so

The above hairy picture is from a website I recently discovered called Project Noah. I didn’t join yet but if I happen across a strange looking creature and it’s not morning in my bathroom mirror nor after drinking too much, I’ll take a picture and submit it to Project Noah to figure out what the creature is. If everyone uses this we might find aliens.

If a caterpillar can look so good why can't I?

That's one fluffy caterpillar.

I generally blog barefoot because I like to have my feet curled up under me.

When winter time rolls around I'm typically wearing socks or slippers. Yes the caterpillar was reported on a British newspaper site but it was found in Missouri. The article that lead me to it said the caterpillar looked like Einstein. Maybe.
thanks

Is the escape key escaping? It seems to have come quite some way down the keyboard.

Is that the Sear's Tower (I think that's what it's called) in Chicago where you're standing in the glass corner? My sister-in-law just got married in July and her photographer cancelled on them 3 days before the wedding. I'd never waste my money on wedding insurance. I like the plant heads. Where are they?

lisleman said...

Yes, you score points for famous building identification. I doubt these points are worth any thing outside of this comment section. It is officially named the Willis Tower now.
Cancelling three days before the event - not a good practice.
The plant heads were on Michigan Ave. in Chicago this past summer.
thanks

Yes like it's name, it did escape. I was able to talk it into meeting me at the space bar.
thanks

I've recently started to really get interested in Geography. But until last year, I had no idea Kashmir was a place. I just thought it was a song.

lisleman said...

That is a good song but when I read your comment I thought you were about to say "sweater". That is spelled differently but sounds the same. The world is too interesting not to know some geography. thanks

That caterpillar is either having a really really BAD hair day or a really really GOOD one. Which?

Laurie Matherne said...

I am barefoot because we are having good weather, and our ministry site is closed because it's a holiday. But, alas, my feet are dirty. Time for a late morning shower.

lisleman said...

thanks for the update

lisleman said...

I say a good hair day. With hair like that what animal would want to eat it?
thanks

I'm blogging in my socks, the weather is a little chilly here.

lisleman said...

Interesting that three of you have reported on your feet status. If people didn't think I was weird I would make it a regular feature. Does your chilly weather always come with a fog? SF does have some of the best fog. thanks

unknownmami said...

No, the coldest days see to be the clear ones in the winter, no fog, but COLD!

When I am an old white haired lady I want a hairdo just like the caterpillar.

I have never heard of wedding insurance but it kind of makes sense. I keep hearing about brides finding out at the last minute the site where the wedding or reception was to be held is unavailable. (or is that a covered problem) This week the news was reporting about all the disappointed brides that had scheduled weddings in National Parks or National buildings. They were scrambling to try to find a new venue at the last minute.

I don't know if Americans are the worst as far as geography goes, but I think we are pretty bad. When I first moved to Texas, some clerk in a major chain store wouldn't take my check because she thought Nebraska was a foreign country.

lisleman said...

You know there was a famous comedian named Phillis who had very similar hair. She did ok. thanks

lisleman said...

Ha Ha - the Nebraska check story is probably more related to the attitude a few Texans hold (Don't Mess with Lone Stars). Not all Texans suffer that state ego problem. I know a few who are very nice and related to me too.
Wedding - First off it's telling that you wrote brides because honestly most grooms don't care much for those details. I think the coverage is mostly for deposited money. The reason I read about the insurance is because of the shutdown and the problem you mentioned.
thanks
(oh a last minute trickle of a thought - how about blog insurance?)

What an interesting looking caterpillar! It's really embarrassing how ignorant Americans (as a whole) are as far as geography goes.

lisleman said...

I agree that it is embarrassing. thanks

Yes, I tend to link the cost of weddings to the bride's side although that is changing to be more shared these days. Had my daughter's wedding venue canceled on us at the last minute, I would have been livid.
What would blog insurance cover?

lisleman said...

I don't know for sure. A post with no comments? Excessive typos? Comment spam?

The caterpillar is beautiful. Maybe you just haven't come out of your chrysalis yet? My MIL has had an iPad now for about six months, and we have been playing WWF for a few months. A few weeks ago, I finally showed her how to search for words via Google if she gets stuck, and she was appalled that I've been "cheating" all this time. I said, "Hey--You had the same advantage; you just didn't use it!"LOL Now, our games are closer in scores.haha

lisleman said...

that's a funny story about the google cheat. Have you ever (BG - Before Google) taken the dictionary out for a scrabble challenge and just took your time flipping the pages while getting to the challenged word? I heard of it being done. thanks

Mrs4444 said...

Can't say that I tried that. I was never a huge fan of Scrabble, for some odd reason (My mom and her sisters loved it.).
