Seriously, if you have read any posts here before you probably know I would be as likely to offer twerking lessons as write reviews of the VMA show. MTV and I were never close. About the closest I ever came to MTV was its reference in a favorite song, “Money for Nothing” by Dire Straits. “I want my MTV!”
Actually I don’t want any MTV or cable programming anymore. Dropping cable TV was a good move. I get all I need from broadcast channels and the internet.

Twerking - I first noticed that word show up on a suggested youtube video list. Beyonce can twerk well. Miley? I didn’t watch her twerking except for the few clips on the internet. Her twerk sure was tweeted. From the little I’ve seen and read, her tongue should have been tweeted off the stage. What’s with the dog tongue? Twerking does not require your tongue to exit the inside of your mouth.

Thank you, Lisleman for the mention. You're a good blogger friend. As for this sudden appearance of the word twerking and all it's butt bouncing proponents....I can't wait for all of it to stop. Weird trend to say the least. Luckily most of these kinds of things don't last long before the next stupid fad comes along to take it's place.
Yes the fads just keep rolling along. Did you also get sick of the Macarena? I did but I also had fun a few times trying to dance to it. The world is lucky there was no video recording going on during my attempts. I read that the term twerking is more than a decade old. I must hang out in a different hood because I didn't hear it until this year. thanks

Wow - did I have trouble getting into the comment form! Silly droid, not digging the disquis, I guess. I didn't know what twerking was 'till this whole Miley thing. Now? I wish I didn't know.

No kidding!! I would take the Macarena over twerking any day...
I guess it would be a little too late but with all those instructional video you share maybe you could do a Macarena instructional one.

I'm a relatively spring chicken, and even I had to google "twerking" the next day. I have no cable, either, so I didn't see it live on MTV, but I sure heard all about it from the facebooks.
I had accidentally stumbled onto it earlier in the year. I don't think it got used much until the Miley thing. Now her tongue filled picture will always be associated with it. I'm not sure but I think the word came from the club scene. Good to know another non-cable TV person. thanks
