its another tequila friday fragment

He was just a hired hand, working on the dreams he planned to try. The days go by.

After the days go by for a bit, you get to Friday. Friday time means Friday Fragments around this blog.

Take another shot of courage. Wonder why the right words never come.  You just get numb.

But don’t get numb, write some fragments (with or without tequila) and head over to Unknown Mami's and link up, read other FF posts, comment, just have a good time.

Ever notice the moon on a bright sunny day? I did today. Just a sliver of crescent moon high in the sky. How special to see this mostly night object during the day.

My experience tells me that women have better night vision than men. Their intuition guides them on a good night. Guys just wait around clueless most of the time. But the Indigo Girls (hey I switched music groups here just to confuse you) tell us that Galileo was the King of night vision, King of insight.

Next on the playlist is “Tequila Sunrise” by the Eagles. We recently went to a free outdoor concert of an Eagles tribute band. They were good.

I like the song. I could better relate if it was a tequila sunset. A tequila sunset would be a hell of alot more fun. Tequila and a rising sun just doesn’t make sense. Of course my night vision would be totally shot after a tequila sunset.

I think about lyrics too much.

I love the Eagles! A tequila sunrise can be extremely fun, if in the true spirit of tequila sunrise's you have been up all night with tequila in one hand and a special someone in the other. ;)

I think it's a tequila sunrise because he's greeting the world bleary eyed from a night of drinking alone. Such a melancholy song.

I LOVE Galileo. The song. I didn't know the guy.

Yeah I only know "of him" myself. I'm not that old. You are probably right about the song or I was thinking maybe they are referring the drink by that name. thanks

Yeah I can see that for a young guy. At my age I would rather have a tequila sunset and evening and then get a good night's sleep.
thanks

Well, I'm not one of those women with better night vision. I have a heck of a time seeing at night. I hate driving when I'm somewhere I'm not familiar with. Maybe that's not what you meant about night vision though? I like some Eagles songs but I've never been a huge fan. Not that I don't like them, just not a follower. I did use to like the Indigo Girls though. Have a fabulous weekend!

thanks have a great weekend too. Yeah, I was thinking more in terms of insight with the night vision. I also think women (not always of course) have better night vision when it comes to relationships. "Galileo" is a favorite song of mine. I mostly enjoy the interesting lyrics.

There's a small town near Guadalajara, Mexico, called Tequila. And yes, the fields surrounding the village are filled with plants that are used to make tequila. I imagine the men getting up to face another day of machetes and tequila would have a different perspective on that song.

Ah but I imagine the tequila sunrise FOLLOWS a tequila sunset.

I agree, a tequila sunset sounds more fun! I love the Eagles, and I love Tequila Sunrise.
I'm afraid, I'm one of those women who doesn't see well at night. I guess there are exceptions to every rule :(

Again, I am at a loss as I can't drink anything with alcohol.

As for night vision..mine sucks.

Lisleman is it your intent today to make me feel bad about myself. (kidding of course)

funny cartoon. Feeling down after reading my post? I don't have any good tips for you at the moment. Most of my tips consist of not playing in traffic and spitting into the wind sorta stuff. You could check out my "blog games" tab above and find a laugh.
thanks for the cartoon.

Good to hear you understand my thinking about the sunset. thanks

lisleman said...

You know would follow those two things? A big hangover.
thanks

lisleman said...

That is a very different perspective, thanks. Hmm, I wonder if crop pickers enjoy tequila, the fruit of their labor. thanks

DD2 totally enjoyed her first Eagles concert last week in DC. And I'm talking to her again. LOL Hopefully, they will get down here to Charleston, SC again and I'll go see them myself. They always take me back to my college days. Shocking that I remember anything from those days. Ha! Have a great weekend.

I used to have great night vision… now my eyes do not cooperate and I need glasses. Very frustrating!
The Eagles are an amazing band. Free concert even better!!
Have a good weekend!

I love the Eagles and that's one of my favorite songs! But I'm with you on the sunset/sunrise thing. I guess it means a sunrise after a night of drinking tequila, but come on, no one would make it to sunrise drinking tequila, would they?

lisleman said...

I agree. Unless they started drinking it about 5 AM. thanks

lisleman said...

I was too subtle in writing about my night vision thought. I was playing around with the idea of night vision being insights to relationship stuff. thanks

lisleman said...

Well did you have great night vision back in your college days? I felt a bit closer to my daughter when she became interested in some old groups/music that I had liked. thanks

When my children were little they were both really good at spotting a daytime moon. It seemed like someone was always exclaiming, "Look, Mama, the moon, the moon!" from the backseat of the car. Not so much anymore... it's like one of those pieces of childhood magic that kind of fades away.

Tami said...

Oh no.. I got it... My mind just wandered. LOL

I love the Eagles! Great song. And good insight about women. Yes, we see things men don't, definitely. Have a great weekend!

Tequila's a must, whether the sun is rising, setting... or anywhere in between!

I got nothin'. But I like that sepia toned couple sitting on the moon.

lisleman said...

I don't have much either. thanks for the comment.

lisleman said...

Good we know what you'll be drinking. thanks

lisleman said...

Yes I think so. But it's not 100% on either side. Someone sang "only fools fall in love" once. thanks

lisleman said...

I certainly love to see childhood magic and wonder on the faces of kids. Adults should try not to let it fade away. thanks

You definitely give lyrics more thought that I do, but I've never been much of an audiophile these days. That said, I do love the Eagles (from back in the day)

thanks for browsing by and sharing a comment. With all the singing your mom and daughter do, I figured you had music going all the time at your place.
