I confess I often forget the “please” when asking for a dish to be passed. Did you know Mrs. 4444 has a table setting of fragments for us every Friday? Check it out and mind your manners there.
Fragments fresh off my fingertips
Does blogging seem like a long game of tag at times? Did you ever play flashlight tag?
I should start working on my epitaph. With my luck I’ll need to correct typos in it. I can just see it now. “He soured with eagles.” (this fragment was inspired by CiCi’s post)
Writing about typos reminds me of one I made in a comment recently. Typos can alter the meaning in funny ways. Regarding a post about bystanders helping crime victims I wrote:
I know reincarnation can’t be true because everyone would want to come back as a penguin. The Galapagos Penguin lives just north of the equator so coming back as a penguin does not mean ice and snow.
Like it or not, those around you become familiar with your typical appearance and style. Make a radical change such as hair color, or facial hair and your friends and family might not have positive reactions. But what about just taking your glasses off?
Our youngest granddaughter was over this week (she turned 1 last Nov.). I was down on the floor helping her get the toys out. She found a favorite toy pearl necklace. She has just recently figured out how to put it on and off. At one point she was holding it out with her outstretched arms and I thought she might slip it on me. I quickly took off my glasses. Wow, did her face change. She was about to cry. I slipped my glasses back on and she gave me a lengthy blah blah babble earful.

“...others persuaded the attacker...”
I meant to write:
“...others pursued the attacker...”
“...others pursued the attacker...”

Being positive is a better approach than being negative. Simple to think but not simple to remember all the time. Have you ever felt thankful and positive for the knowledge you have learned about penguins? Penguins are positive birds.

Never played flashlight tag - flashing alone has always kept me busy. Those squirrel candles look like chocolate and thus made me hungry for squirrel! Great fragments! W.C.C.
Did you know that the Shedd Aquarium has a special program where you can meet and pet some of the penguins? That is, if you're interested in meeting them. They might actually be reincarnated people, after all. ;-)
Ha! I bet the look on your granddaughter's face -- and yours -- was priceless!
I have never played flashlight tag.
I don't think I would want to come back as a penguin but I do think they are cute. It just seems that they look like they are ready to topple. As clutzy as I am I don't need to be less agile than I already am.
AWWWW such a cute story about your little granddaughter. I love when they are little and blah blah babble.
I know what you mean about typos and spell check won't correct a meaning...just make sure the spelling is correct...sour vs. soar made me laugh...but sour isn't misspelled so the checker won't help you in any way.
Great fragments/thoughts

Hmm nothing like chewing on wax. I have eaten rabbit but I don't get a taste for small wild game. thanks
Oh that's funny!! My dad and uncles all have beards, so all the baby girls have always stared at the naked faces of men with distrust ;-) Typos can be pretty funny. I never realized that blogging was like tag, but I have to agree with you!
It's amazing how something so small can change our appearance signifagantly.
Nice typo (I'll assume you playing along with my typo idea). My daughter (mom of the granddaughter) once had a hard time with me when I shaved my mustache off. thanks
So often we forget that people are comfortable with the setting they grew-up in. Tag you're it. thanks
When I'm typing on my Ipad, I make lots of typos! And half the time, I don't catch them so no telling what I say that sounds inappropriate when I don't mean that.....sigh.
It really is amazing that a little thing can change your looks and little ones pay close attention to that sort of thing!
The little ones are certainly sponges trying to soak it all in. I don't like typing on Ipad or anything without a keyboard. Not only mistakes but slow too.
thanks
Yes the spelling technology doesn't help for all mistakes. I'm glad to share a laugh. Nothing sour about it. thanks
You don't enjoy falling down? They do look like moving bowling pins. Her babbling is fun especially with her cute faces. thanks
yes it was priceless. thanks for Shedd info. I love the restaurant inside the Shedd but their hours are very limited.
Sweet granddaughter story. Learning what actually is in their minds is another education.
thanks - You're always guessing when they are too little to talk.
Little Dude always looks at me funny when I don't have my glasses on. So far he hasn't said anything, but his look says it all. ;)
Good analogy that blogging seems like a game of tag sometimes!
I've left typos in comments before, and usually end up correcting them with a follow-up comment - sometimes even exacerbate the typo problem in the follow up. I attribute them to Blonde Moments. ;)

I like that you're ok with blonde type jokes. I really think there would be less blonde jokes if hair coloring was never invented. Often it's not worth the bother to correct a comment. I do like the edit feature on Disqus however. thanks
My kids reacted the same way when my parents took their glasses off. I had forgotten all about it! Thanks for reminding me about that as well as flashlight tag!
I just started wearing glasses and at first my dog looked at me funny! I wish I could blame some of my blog post as typos but really I'm quick outta the gates and rarely edit! Of coarse not sure of my excuse for St Patty's day and it really being Paddy's Day! lol....I'm surely not the only one...right!!! Happy Weekend!
Blogs are great for refreshing our memories. thanks
I have heard that dogs can read our faces so the dog probably was confused with the new look/book. Paddy sounds more Irish. Patties are for grilling. thanks
That's funny and adorable. Thank goodness grandpa caught on in a hurry!
I not for my family, I would probably chop my hair off. It's probably a good thing that they're here to stop me, though.
Thanks for linking up! Have a great weekend.
Thanks for making the FF rounds. Really, you have the urge to chop your hair short? I gathered from that wedding picture that you did have short hair once. Long hair is good for the plumbing business.
Every now and then, yes, but I'll never be the man-short type, so don't worry. Kendall once asked me when I will have "Grandma hair.'haha I told her "Hopefully never!"
I have patients at work react if I do something as simple as wear my hair down instead of in a ponytail. I guess people like consistency!
I wouldn't think that would get a reaction. people are strange too
