fragments flash flip flop far from Fargo

I’ve never been to Fargo but the movie was great. I’m even farther from Frisco but I have been there a few times (anyone notice a heart lying around there?). However, if you are on the internet then you are never too far from Friday Fragments hosted by Mrs. 4444. I do believe her favorite letter is ‘F’ (just a guess).

Mommy's Idea

I’ve joined many things on the internet. How about you? I don’t remember all of them. Software systems have the ability of remembering you long after you have forgotten them. The DIY, hobby related site instructables reminds me of my membership often with an email. Members there have the craziest ideas at times. Here’s an example:

Do you agree that a wedding invitation is like a gift subpoena? I heard that on Wait Wait Don’t Tell Me.

Whiskey Tango Foxtrot do I care. Beside being part of the ICAO phonetic alphabet and the title of a memoir about an Iraq war assignment, it could just stand for WTF. I really should learn to swear in code. Foxtrot Uniform could probably be said to most people without getting punched in the face.

A bit byte of internet news:
Google announced that their youtube site has reached more than one billion unique visitors per month. A billion is not an easy number to comprehend so they offered a few way to describe it.
  • Nearly one out of every two people on the Internet visits YouTube.
  • If YouTube were a country, we’d be the third largest in the world after China and India.

On the subject of youtube, listen to this fun story from Larry King (once known as Capt. Wainright). Larry is not a big favorite of mine but he knows how to tell a good story.

Please take a moment to locate this planet’s emergency exits.

I have learned a lot of curse 'code' words via my teenage son's texting. Jeesh!
I think Larry King is creepy.
Have a great weekend!

thanks for agreement and code Bravo Echo Echo

You should post these code words as a public service announcement type of post. Someday in the future a young woman will say, "that Adam Levine is creepy". thanks

I'm glad you liked it. It's not that easy to tell a story well, at least not around my siblings. thanks

I used to love Wait, Wait, Don't Tell me. I guess I could use the internet to listen. However, I now have other things to listen to, such as the water guy right now serenading the street with a song of selling purified water.

The water guy is live. We watched a live recording of the show a few years ago. Fun being in the audience. I listen to the show over the radio but have listen on the internet a very few times. Stay thirsty my friend. thanks

I've lost count on how many things I've joined on the internet - and some that are probably linked to long defunct email accounts, too. :)

Those - ahem - 'snow shoes' are still cracking me up.

I am LOVING the idea of swearing in code - I am totally going to steal that idea and start talking like that - wonder how long it will take the hubby to figure out what I really mean? ;)

I knew YouTube was big, but wow!

Yes changing your email accounts is a quick way to refresh all you sign-ups. Of course you have all the people you want to keep in touch with you affected. Glad you noticed the plow shoes. It appeared most people skipped over them. It is a small pic.

I used to join a lot of stuff on the internet, now I avoid it at all costs-- I figure that's where a lot of my endless SPAM comes from.

And wedding invitations (and showers and engagement parties and baby showers and 1st birthdays) for people I don't really know drive me crazy. Those are def "gift requests" with the bride and groom hoping I don't actually show up. Grrrrr.

Have a great weekend, jj

I think wedding is a gift subpoena if it comes from someone you hardly know. It is not a subpoena if it is your nephew, niece or kid you fathered and didn't know about. . I have one right now from the daughter of someone my husband worked with 2 jobs and 15 years ago...I am prepared to just call that a gift request.

I have joined a ton of sites that send emails. HGTV is the worst. I really need to take the time and unsubscribe a bunch of those.

I never got into watching Larry King but when I saw clips of his interviews, I think he is a great at what he does. AND yes that is a funny story.

Have a great weekend, lisleman!

I've joined way too many things myself - which is why I spend way too much time unsubscribing from e-newsletters and deleting emails. When will I learn? Love that pic of your granddaughter!

You must be on the she-gives-good-gifts list. thanks

"a kid you fathered and didn't know about" - not a good situation to be in. I got a great deal from Blockbuster when they were shutting down stores and I still get emails from them once in awhile. thanks

thanks. she enjoys getting her picture taken. They are fun to play with at that age.
