English Lit never covered Friday Fragments

Mrs. 4444 the collector of FF posts is also a teacher. She has seen many of my FF posts I’ve turned in but she last graded my FF assignment more than a month ago. I'm hoping for a good grade on this one.  Luckily you can’t get an F on an FF post. I’m sure she has been extremely busy so do you know if we have a substitute FF teacher today (I'm always the last to know)?

Mommy's Idea

I know this FF literature is being published on Thursday afternoon my time. Three reasons:
1. It’s already Friday in parts of the world where a few readers live. People, the web is global you know.
2. There’s no two here but things in threes read better.
3. People love Friday so in the spirit of spreading Friday love I start it on Thursday.

Wait wait don’t tell me - just hold that thought.

Remember these lyrics?

it's not fair,
to deny me,
of the cross-eyed bear,
that you gave to me

No? Then watch this -

Old wives' tale - why don’t we ever hear of old husbands’ tales? I guess guys are just not that talkative.

Move me on to any black square
Use me anytime you want ….
'Cause it's time is time in time with your time and
Its news is captured...
for the queen to use
Diddit diddit diddit diddit diddit diddit diddit didda ...

~~~ oops sorry  -=-  Yes I forgot I left my headphones turned on  -=-  your move ~~~
I’m a non-cruiser.  I seriously doubt I will ever take a cruise. I mean on a ship on the ocean. I cruise the kitchen all the time. Any readers out there experienced with the vacation cruise? We have enjoyed a few Caribbean islands. We flew in and out. Being dropped off for a few hours of port visiting would not be enough for me. They need a cruise that drops you off for a few days and then comes back and picks you up.
Almost forgot, still holding that thought? Remember it? Was it heavy? Ok go ahead and share it with us down in the comment section.
So satisfied I'm on my way.
I graded it F for Fantastic. I love your FFs, you know once I didn't know what BFF means, do you? It has been Friday for more than six hours now! And with my all deep and flip flop thoughts, I wonder why I could not come up with an FF.
Hey thanks for the F. I had daughters so I knew what BFF was since they started talking about them. I think the term started in the 80's. Flip flop thoughts - that sounds like good material for a FF post to me. thanks
Wow gut punching funny. Glad to share a laugh.
Funny - I actually think this "meme" of something is the new better something is overdone. Thanks for the laugh.
I imagine that to find the misheard lyrics funny one would have to be able to understand the REAL lyrics, which I don't - - - but it's a funny IDEA anyway.
Even in old songs, like Christmas Carols this can happen:
"While Shepherds Washed their Socks by Night"
"Gladly the cross-eyed bear."
etc.
I've uploaded almost my entire brain on FFs:) And yes, my appetite is insatiable.
I like the idea of making Friday last long too...
I can't resist the opportunity to point out that there are no Old Husband Tales because they never say anything "wise".
Ellen Stewart Seaman said...
Um, 'cause most wives live longer, so they're left to tell tales.
Because men like to blame things on women,
And whoever made that video needs their hearing checked - most of the lyrics were easy to understand.
Finally, I went on a cruise in Greece and Turkey on a mid-sized cruise ship. Not my preferred way of travel, but my mother wanted to do it and she was paying! I took one other cruise, a West Indies barefoot cruise on an 100-passenger sailing ship. That was wonderful.
That is a very good video. Love it.
lisleman said...
Is Thursday the "new" Friday? You can always have a "Friday" attitude on any day.
lisleman said...
Good one - go ahead take your best shot - oh wait did you hear as "pet shark"? thanks
lisleman said...
Don't both sexes blame the other one? It's always the other guy like when I drive and all the other drivers are idiots. A sailing cruise would be different than what I think most cruises are like. thanks
lisleman said...
Good to hear. Go ahead hit me with your pet shark.
lisleman said...
So "dead men don't tell tales" is true? There should be young wives tales. thanks
I abhor, detest, loathe and just plain don't like cruises. Only cruised once. It was a bore. Drop me off in the mountains, and I'll take a hike. Or on a wharf, and I will fish away. But, no. I won't cruise again.
lisleman said...
A little touchy? Don't tell me you dated Gilligan. One aspect I might like (don't really need the middle of the ocean) would be the darkness of being away from land and maybe some sea life.
thanks
I guess I am sensitive about cruising. I spent lots of time on my dad's boat as a child. As much as I appreciate my parents' love for the water, let's just say I had enough of being in a confined space on a large body of water, especially in blistering heat.
I tried to leave a comment earlier and I just couldn't make it work for me, iPad wasn't working. That video makes me laugh! My husband I always find it amusing when one of us is got the words wrong to a song for years!!
I have always wanted to go on a cruise because I've heard there's so much fun but my husband that does not like boats :-(
I would love to make some joke about women being smarter but i married a pretty wise guy...
i got lost in the misheard lyrics! LOL pretty cool FF post, sugar!! xoxoxo
lisleman said...
I enjoyed them. thanks
There are times the Disqus comment system does want to work for me on laptop either. When it works (most of the time) I really like the interaction it provides. Thanks for coming back and trying again. Misheard lyrics are funny. Hit me with you pet shark - who would not laugh at that? A wise guy huh? You didn't say wise man so does that mean he is a joker?
Try cruising if only to find which island you want to visit next.
My parents took their first cruise when they retired and have since been on two more. After the first my mother called me, whispering into the phone, "30 years and I thought I new the man!" I'm listening and thinking, "Oh crap!" but she went on to say, "Umbrella drinks! You father was drinking UMBRELLA DRINKS!" Since its rare to see them man without a Coke or occasional can of beer in his hand, I immediately understood her amazement!
knew- sorry!
Funny story. When the drinks are included your likes change. Thanks for sharing. I read right pass the typo. BTW - did you know that this comment system offers an edit feature even after you click to post it.
lisleman said...
Unfortunately the vacation budget could not handled that idea. Using the cruise as a sampling of places is an interesting idea. thanks
My parents love to cruise... but they are into ballroom dancing so they really love the whole 'shipboard' living thing... they rarely do the specific excursions on the islands, preferring to just wander around on their own.
lisleman said...
Interesting, I'm not much of a ballroom dancer but I will say that those that know how can be impressive. thanks
I've been MIA on fragments lately. But the one day I show up to the party, you aren't there. Good thing you have last weeks Frags. to keep me busy. That video of misheard lyrics made me LOL so hard I started choking. It was like a total beat down of funny. Whenever I want my husband to hug me, I sing.."Hold me closer, Tony Danza. Take me to ride inside your taxi. Then you'll show me, who's the boss." lol
Anytime I think of going on a cruise, I think of the show I saw on rouge waves. Freaking scary.
tracismixedbag said...
So, I closed your site and realized oh man, I should have got the link for the video. So I googled your name, lisleman and it looks like this Lissette Selman, stole your twitter name lol. https://twitter.com/liselman
