I enjoy music on PBS

I've been laid-off or sacked as the British like to say, twice in my career.  But fortunately both times the kids were not little and the wife was still working.  Everyone's situation is unique but I was watching music performance of Keb' Mo' on PBS the other night.  He did this song, "We Don't Need It" and it really hit some emotional parts of me.

The PBS program is called, "Infinity Hall Live".

Here's the Keb' Mo' web page.

If you say so. I thought it might be his real wife. I don't know.

PBS doesn't get enough credit. The lady in the video used to be a lawyer on Boston Legal.

You are the second reader to ID that lady. I guess you two are right. Thanks

What a beautiful song. We were a single income family once we had kids (first I worked, then Tom) so my kids became very familiar with 'We don't need it."

Even though you hate to see families in tough times I do believe it provides a life-long lesson to kids growing up in those hard times.
thanks

Beautiful song but very sad. I watched Up In The Air many times, our family enjoyed it because it reminded us of the travel life but the movie showed reality. In Malaysia things are still okay. I remember the recession of 1998 and how we still had problem hiring people, not many were out of job. I pray that Malaysia will remain okay.

I have not seen that movie. Hopefully economies will be improving for a number of years to come. There are cycles to it but the extremes don't need to be so bad,
