Luna fragments

Would you be shocked if I told you that the Friday Fragments post is my favorite post to write? Would you be shocked if I stuck live electrodes in your ears? I’ve known people who are never shocked.

I don’t know what shocks Mrs. 4444 (probably her students) but she is still accepting FF posts over on her blog. Check them out, just don’t stick your finger in the socket.

Mommy's Idea

Blue Moon - Friday will be a once in a blue moon day since it’s the second full moon this month. I hope the evening sky is clear to enjoy it. I believe Blue Moon beer should be free on blue moon days.

My brother called this week. As he often does, he started off with an out-of-the-blue statement.
“Now we’ll never know for sure.”
What?
“Neil Armstrong died so we won’t know if it was fake.”
He did this to irk me. It relates back to the day when a relative (will remain nameless for now) stated that she was not sure if the moon landing actually happened. I thought she was joking but then I learned she had doubts after listening to some conspiracy people. Believing the Apollo 11 landing was faked is dumber than believing in unicorns.

We did it. So far the withdrawal symptoms have been nothing much. I did need to remind myself a few times not to try to flip on CNBC for the current stock market news. Oh what is it? We dropped all the TV channels from our cable service. Only my internet connection remains coming over the cable. I’ll probably be watching more youtube so take that as a warning.

Would I improve my blog appeal if I hyped up the common effects discovered by readers of a A Few Clowns Short? What are those you ask (hey play along here will you) Now let’s try that again - What are those you ask. Readers are discovering their inner goddess and occasionally a piece of trivia stuck under an old memory.

Just read this -

I don’t know about life but I bet if they search carefully they will find a trail of ants.

Did you have enough smiles today? Can we ever have too many? Watch this youtube clip of two twin babies highchair dancing. I predict more dancing in their future.

I came across a little newspaper clipping I saved. One of those human interest fillers. A woman in the mountains reported taking her grandmother outside, at grandma's request, to look at the moon during the moon landing. Grandma announced it was fake because she couldn't see "them fellas." I threw it away. The dancing dolls are keepers.

Yeah I bet Queen Isabella couldn't see Christopher's fella either after they passed over the horizon. Many of us believe things we can't see but I guess some don't. Yes the dancing babies are good. thanks

If blue moon gave away free beer, they would have to somehow put restrictions on it. A few bad apples would ruin it for the rest of us by working the system to get more than their share of free beer.

Oh you don't trust your fellow beer drinker? I guess they could issue coupons for 1 "while supplies last". I know it's not quite the same since it is alcohol but didn't Dunkin Donuts and/or McDonalds give away free coffee before? There always someone trying to work the angles on everything. thanks

Happy Blue Moon Day. Does that mean the moon is blue? I don't drink beer, but I am all for free Blue Moon Beer to those who do.
Have a great Labor Day Weekend!

The second full moon within one month is a blue moon. I don't have a clue why the color blue was picked. The moon can be reddish and orange on the horizon but why not a green moon? Have a great weekend too. thanks

The moon has been breathtakingly beautiful around here the past couple of nights. I didn't realize it was the second full moon of the month! Love the 'trail of ants' comment - that truly made me laugh out loud! As did the video of the twins - what cuties!!

thanks - I'm happy to share lunar knowledge anytime. What a discovery it would be to find ants on Mars or somewhere other than the kitchen counter.

Arghh. I want a Blue Moon Ale. Now. They are not available in Honduras. Please send a carton or two so I can enjoy the moon rise.

My husband would agree with you about the Blue Moon beer. The twins dancing is very high on the cuteness scale. And I agree with your statement about those who remain skeptical about the moon landing. We didn't have cable for years- we watched Netflix or Hulu if we wanted anything other than network. But we have Knology now. Because guess what I get to do with Knology? NFL channel all day long! WooHoo!

lisleman said...

too bad beer does not flow through the internet piping. thanks

lisleman said...

I had never heard of Knology and just did a quick look. I guess it's your local service provider and appears to be big in fiber connections.
Glad you agree about the moon landing.

We've never had cable. We just got a ROKU and love it. It makes streaming NetFlix and Amazon very easy and it's got some other free content available on it like TED Talks and Chow Hound.

We can get a few internet services like that on our Blue Ray player. I think Cable TV is either going to change their packaging or die away some day. thanks

Ah, now I know why the moon was so bright and beautiful last night. I always learn something at your blog... what does that say about me? Never mind, do not answer that! :)

lisleman said...

Good to know the blog is a source of something. Spread the word.
thanks

Did you manage to see the blue moon?

Cute Twins :D

And? I kinda want to follow that trail of ants....

You are ready for a space vacation?
The full moon was bright enough to be seen through the high cloud cover. Thanks

That video was just awesome. Made me almost sorta want another baby for like two seconds. Then I just enjoyed watching HER babies knowing that I will sleep tonight. Is that selfish?

Moving along....I called my mom and the first thing she said when she picked up was "What happened? Did you go dead?"....love that stuff! Sometimes I pretend to be someone else and the beauty of it is that it still trips her up even though she has caller id. *giggle*

Phone pranks - much more fun than texting. It's hard for me to comprehend the desire to have the whole labor thing with babies when you see a baby. If I am suffering a hangover (very seldom nowadays) and see a beer - it's a big turn off.
thanks
