more broken news by Lisleman

(Warning: oh wow, you really read warnings? I don’t and that explains volumes about me. Just remember the post you are about to read contains Lisleman opinion. You probably have an opinion too and so at least we have that in common.

Enjoy Lisleman’s slightly damaged news on clearance. From coast to toast, faster than a salsa slide we bring you news you don’t need.

Now for some strange social networking reason, Lisleman actually has a bit of news that is less than 24 hours old. Remember when you were less than 24 hours old? Well of course not, no one does. Ok lets get this flash out before I settle in like bear protecting his honey.

Wisconsin Girl Makes Big with Yahoo

No people this story is not about the dating scene. (is there one in Wisconsin?) No this is real business news. The business of Yahoo.com will now be run by the brand new young CEO, Marissa Mayer. She just a girl in my mind since I have a similar aged daughter. I first learned of Marissa on G+. She was one of the Google people I circled. (if you’re not on G+ circle is like follow but rounder

Yahoo has struggled in recent years. Heck I bet you didn’t know it was still around. She is sure to have fresh ideas to lead the company. I wish her well.

Beware the Chinese might like your village

The Chinese love for the little Austrian village of Hallstatt is so great that they are spending nearly a billion dollars to clone it (the sincerest form of flattery?). Look out Cedarburg Wisconsin.

Sad Mermaid News

It’s official. NOAA (that’s the US Oceanic and Atmospheric group) has declared that mermaids are NOT real
"No evidence of aquatic humanoids has ever been found," NOAA's National Ocean Service division said in a recent blog posting.

I am so crushed I don't even want to post a mermaid picture. They are ALL FAKE! Maybe I could get a job writing for their blog. I would love to investigate mermaids and similar things.

My last edition in case you missed it is here.

More broken news to add to "More Broken News by Lisleman": Social Life-less Wisconsin Girl Who is Not a Mermaid But Has Visited Cedarburg Once Only to Get Kicked Out for Unexpectedly Shouting "Yahoo!" in Chinese Is Cleaning House!

(Thanks for alerting me to the slow-mo situation on my blog page. I appreciate you kindly letting me know that my too much stuff was making for less than ideal blog reading conditions, without calling me a blog hoarder. (<--Yikes!) I have since started the de-cluttering process. Thanks again, Bill, you're a peach!)

Never found Marisa on Google. Now everyone is probably circling her.

Mermaids can be real to you. Don't listen to anyone else.

Like you, I am wishing the young Marissa huge success.

I will remember your advice next time I'm at the beach. thanks

She had a large following right from the start as did many of the Google insiders.

Oh you are very welcomed. Maybe I should start a career in blog de-cluttering. Let Lisleman clean your bytes. Ok my plan needs some work. BTW - good job stringing the headlines together. You must be fun to watch the news with.

I'm not going to tell my husband about the mermaids. He'd be crushed as well. But I'm excited about Yahoo - I hope she straightens out the email problems I've been having lately!!

lisleman said...

My past experience tells me she will be changing things around and maybe email will improve. I'm pretty sure it will change. I've never heard of a new CEO say I'm not changing a thing this company is running perfect.
thanks

Can't wait to see what will be new with Yahoo.....I'm thinking great things.
Mermaids not real...omg whats next the Kardashians!

lisleman said...

The Kardashians jokes provided me my only knowledge of that odd family. I'm proud to say I have never watch their show. thanks

These bits are entertaining and interesting, Bill. The woman taking over at Yahoo--Wow. Is she that young, or are we just getting old? I feel like I would FREAK OUT to be that young with a job that big. I wish her well, too.

lisleman said...

Yes she is under 40 and the day or day after she took the office they announced she is expecting her first child. Now I'm completely for equal paid and working rights for women (I have 4 daughters) but I also know how much that first child changes your life in ways you just don't expect. This Yahoo story will be interesting to watch.

I suspect her hubs will be the stay-at-home parent, because she would have to be some kind of flake to take a job like that in her condition otherwise. Yes, it will be interesting...
