don’t have to live like a refugee

Honey, it don't make no difference to me baby
Everybody has to fight to be free,
you see
You don't have to live like a refugee
(Don't have to live like a refugee)
Now baby you don't have to live like a refugee

living in a box with my neighbor in my childhood backyard

Change is always just around the corner and we don't know which way to turn to avoid it. It's better to just accept it.   Better but not always easier.

My CD player was cranking out this Tom Petty tune on my way to grocery store today. I realized something. I replayed it a few times.

I reinterpret much of the music from my past against events of my present.   Maybe this is common.  I don’t know.

The current business environment is not treating me too kindly lately. But I don’t have to live like a corporate refugee.

Also -

I’m NOT going to revel in my abandon.

(Yes I do realize there are real refugees in many places around our world.  I don't think Tom Petty was doing a comparison to real refugees when he wrote this in 1980.  I'm not either.)

It's funny when the hidden messages effect or is affect us in today's life....I had a dream that I bought lotto tickets which I never do and won 4 million $ I woke up this morning and I'm wondering if it's a sign do I go buy a ticket or two today?!! Happy Monday!

I think Living in a Box was a song too.

Ha - don't know that one but you're probably right.

I don't play lottery but I have and I like to visit a casino maybe once a year. If you don't play much then it could be fun to try your dream idea with a few dollars. thanks

I love that slice of life photo. The economy is bad, but keep your chin up. It's going to get better. Sometimes we need to change how we think about the problem. After a year deployed for the Iraq war, my air National Guard husband came home only to be laid off from his high paying high tech job. He went back to school and got some units toward his master's degree, and went to work as a defense contractor.

Blogs do provide slices of life which are not typically as good as slices of pie. A big thanks to your husband and your family for his service. Great that he could adapt to all the obstacles thrown at him. The positive attitudes really do help but it's not simple. thanks for sharing your slice.

You made me smile. I just added two of my grandchildren to the house. Now, that's a change. But, and this is the biggie, I've been drug kicking and screaming to a new browser. Figured what the heck; blogger is Google's product, let's go Chrome. Your blog is back to normal, big wheels just quit turning. With apologies, but the little gear logo has stopped spinining.

I take it you are looking at a change in work situations?

I should be apologizing to you, the reader. But if I've learned anything working in technology and engineering, it's that you can't test this stuff enough. I have a zombie laptop (not this one) right now that needs a good kick. - back to real life - yes added two grandkids is a huge change to your daily life. I get worried when it's just overnight. thanks for sharing your time and comment.

yeah maybe the "not" work situation would better describe it. It will be figured out eventually. It's not a crisis. Well at least I don't think so but I need to be careful taking the next corner.
thanks

Love that photo - I spent quite a bit of my childhood in boxes! Good luck in whatever change is on your horizon!!

Thanks - It's good to see my grandkids still play with boxes. There are one of the best toys for the price.
Good luck to you too on the job hunt. I just don't know what to hunt for.
