ain’t no floozy because she flosses frequently
I completed my scheduled teeth cleaning (if I start lose them does the cleaning get cheaper?) with a passing grade. "How often do you floss?" Being in a dentist chair and coming from a lovely dental assistant I’ll accept that very direct question. My honest answer (not often) just gets a me a series of reasons why being on the low floss path of life is dangerous. Two good things:
- I had the same good humored assistant last time.
- I paid attention and my memory playback worked.
I was able to answer with her next reason before she provided it. All good reasons but we agreed that guys can just be stubborn. I do enjoy her humor. My next cleaning was pushed into 2013 and she remarked, “if we are still around”. We then joked about the 2012 end-of-the-world prediction. A few laughs and clean teeth - what more could an old guy expect?
Blogging Sabbatical or who has time to blog with twitter, FB and G+.
Could be a seasonal thing, a blogging flu, or a blog allergies. It just seems there has been a slow down around here. Even fewer clowns than normal lately. Do you hit the publish button and think “that post should get a response”? I felt that way about my previous post.

easy to chill in the winter |
Damn I just wrote a check for too much so we could chill a little in our house this summer. The old air conditioner’s condition was not very airy. I often wish I could keep a little heat from the summer for the winter and a some winter coldness for the summer. That would be a nice balance don’t you think? Just doesn't work that way. I might post about my failed attempt of a fix but for now I’ll just share a picture of the unit’s wiring I captured so that I could remember how the wires went back together. (I should photoshop in a ticking clock for more drama)
Put a little manic mustard on my hot dog please
I was dragged by my wife into a Costco the other day. Alright, she really can’t drag me anywhere since that would require a heavy equipment operator’s license. She enticed me with the idea of enjoying a Costco hot dog. Have any of you tried a Costco hot dog? It was a steamed hot dog whose appeal is price.
I’m not giving up my favorite hot dog stand for a warehouse hot dog.
The Costco experience exemplifies the American consumerism. We want bigger packages of stuff for less. We love to join any type of club. I really thought I would see more big SUVs there since the over-sized packages need a truck to haul home.
Oh almost forgot - I added a slideshow treat for all bottom of the page scrollers. Scroll down for a look.

There's a new, built from scratch hot dog place near us, Retro Dog, family owned and operated. Retro designed building, on a corner. We'll see. Speaking of which, I cannot see what I've typed. Sort of like Helen Keller. Can't you put it back the way it was.
I did submit a trouble report/feedback to DISQUS about the light grey problem. It's readable on my browser but did you try viewing the page with the zoom? Like I said the DISQUS people control this.
Hope you like the retro dogs.
thanks
I'm one of the few people who love going to the dentist and don't have a Costco membership. I do love hot dogs, though!
I try to floss as much as possible but I'm lazy! I miss Costco....and their hot dogs and churros are pretty good too! I've been in and out of reading blogs also...not sure why maybe summer is just busier or my computer room is just hotter! Have a wonderful weekend!
Great idea to bottle up some of this heat to use during the winter! Too bad there's no way to do that.
Is the blank white image an image of snow? Are you taking a blog sabbatical? It's too early this morning for me to think clearly so I am asking directly. One final thought . . . I have been missing good hot dogs in Honduras. The weiners here are scary stuff, indeed.
Blank white image? maybe it didn't load. There is a mostly white image of sledding in our back yard. too early for your computer?
thanks
We like our dentist. Going there is pleasant but I would rather be other places. These fragment posts do produce odd combinations - dentist and hot dogs.
thanks
Hotter computer room - I have not thought of that reason.
thanks
Long ago before the age of Lisleman, they did store ice into the summer months. As a virtual mind game, I have put pictures of the summer beach into the desktop background to generate warm thoughts.
thanks
Loved the slide show. I'll be singing that song the rest of the day! :)
THANKS for letting me know. I never know if readers watch these things. You can always get another song stuck in your head and change that one out.
not sure if this will post, but....as much as i like laying in a stock of tp for when the world ends, i never bothered to renew the sam's club membership. costco hasn't made it to savannah, yet. now i'm hungry...damn, sugar, you had t mention hot dogs! ;) xoxoxo
You don't need TP in heaven do you? So you have a hot dog weakness. I would not of guessed.
thanks
Nice slideshow- love that song. Was that a squirrel on top of the girder looking thingy? Must say I did get a couple of chuckles from the car and camper. :) The last time I went to the dentist I hadn't been in 5 years- my grandfather probably turned over in the grave, he was a dentist- and it took her less than 20 minutes to clean my teeth. They were stunned. "It's been 5 years and you have no cavities and very little plaque. Please don't go telling other people this." My grandfather taught us well about the importance of flossing and using a hard bristled toothbrush! LOL
I think you mean the photo with the sun and crisscross beams. That's in Chicago and no what you thought might be a squirrel is a light or speaker. We all have different teeth genes I believe. thanks for sharing the story.
Really there is almost no other instance in life when I am more compelled to lie than when the dental assistant asks me how often I floss!
thanks for sharing that bit of honesty.
It's summer. There always seems to be a blogging slowdown in the summer. Strangely, this year I'm not feeling it and I hope I don't. I'm for year-round blogging.
Yeah there should be no seasons in blogging.
Why should there be no seasons in blogging? There are seasons in people's lives, and blogging is simply a reflection of that.
I should have wrote no "off" seasons. I certainly didn't mean seasons should not be written about.
I knew what you meant - I was talking about "off" seasons, too. Sometimes life intervenes. I think blog breaks are sometimes helpful and even necessary. I've taken them when I needed to and I will again. Brace yourself. :-)
