faithful furry friday fragments

I have written many FF posts since I got hooked on Mrs. 4444’s meme. Typically I would start off with (IMHO) a funny line or two about her blog or maybe her cold northern midwest location. Today I start with a small tribute to Cooper.

This past week the 4444’s family dog Cooper passed on. I only met their fun loving dog through her blog and youtube clips. This one is my favorite clip and Cooper thanks for giving me a laugh. I wish I could throw you a bone.

Holy google maps!

I noticed a story of a mansion being listed this week for $2.7 million. But it wasn’t the money (maybe I could play rich one day and tour the home?) but its location and unique in-ground pool that attracted me to the story. The Chicago suburb, Hinsdale is not that big so I went to google maps to find the Batman pool. You can find it too but to speed your search along I’ll embed a map of it below. Anyone for a Batman themed pool party? (zoom in to see it better)

View cool pool 2 in a larger map

Random factoid fragment - there exists a massive pancake-shaped cloud of dust in our galaxy. It’s called the zodiacal cloud which sounds cool to me. A piece of it resides under my bed.

I don’t tempt fate with this now, but do you remember leaning back on your chair’s back legs as a way to impress others?

When you lean too far and fall you instantly become the biggest fool. There must be a lesson in that somewhere.

He smelled like sweat-dried gym shoes
with hint of mint.
Could that be the start of a character description? I don’t even remember what I was reading when I jotted down this description. Now I’m not sure what to do with it. Maybe it’s a reminder to buy some new walking shoes and change my socks. Anyone for a mint?

I'm so sorry about Cooper - you're a sweet friend to post that video. Sweat-dried gym shoes and a hint of mint. I can't even imagine it! lol

I enjoyed this post very much, Lisleman. The tribute warmed my heart. I especially loved the ending fragment--very funny. Thanks for the chuckle.

I'm also impressed by your idea to share that map! It took me a second to figure out how to zoom in, but it was worth it; that's a very cool pool!

Thanks for playing FF this week :)

Definitely a character in that description... but I'm picturing a teenager from one of my daughter's classes...

Oh, my heart just melted watching that vid.  My Jake is a golden retriever, I own an identical treadmill (note I shy clear of claiming to use it), and our surname is COOPER - so many coincidences in here!  He looks to have been a unique character, and I am sure he'll be sorely missed, bless him.

Sweat dried gym shoes and mint (chewing gum) is the scent of my youngest daughter - sure hope she finds another fragrance when she is old enough to date!

I have the same galaxy under my couch! Wow! It must be huge :)

I couldn't get a close enough view of the pool to see it, darn it. The Cooper video is very cute. I hadn't seen that one.

Happy Friday!

Sorry to hear about Cooper.  He seemed like the perfect family member.

Ew. Sweat and mint? Bad, just bad. I knew someone who had a bell shaped pool. The last name was. . . Bell. The clapper was a whirlpool. She was my ninth grade math teacher. She was too old to wear cowboy boots and short skirts, but no one dared to tell her so. She was a hoot.

Wayne, thanks for browsing by and dropping a comment.  You should add your blog link to your DISQUS profile.  Then I can return the visit quickly  by just clicking on your DISQUS name.  thanks

Thanks - It really is a favorite youtube clip.

The odd thing about teenagers is the extremes - going from no hygiene smelly to over fragrant cologne splashed.

Lucky for you that your youngest daughter doesn't read my blog!
Those are interesting coincidences.  I have noticed a few dogs on treadmills youtube clips.  thanks for browsing by

That's funny story - math teacher in cowboy boots.  You should post about this hoot.  thanks

The pool shot is neat. There are clearly some people in the world living very different lives from the rest of us. Your last fragment made me laugh, it does sound like a character description - it actually reminds me of sitting next the guys in undergrad that would come to class after working out and not showering, but would pour in cologne as if that helped the situation.

lisleman said...

When you realize the pool shot was from a satellite it's even cooler.  Yes the 1% live in a different world.  Your comment story gave me a laugh - thanks

I believe MOST of that random dust cloud has landed right here on my furniture.

Oh well - - - "dust is a protective coating on fine furniture!"

My grandmother suffers from epilepsy and was diagnosed shortly after giving birth to my mother. The doctor, honest to goodness, attributed it to her falling back out of her chair as a child. It must have been some fall if the seizures had nothing to do with pregnancy or childbirth and took 20 years to develop!

Now, why would someone want a giant batman insignia in their pool?  A clear case of more money than sense!

lisleman said...

I don't know anything about how much sense they have but certainly they must have a good amount of money.  The short article in the paper mentioned that they did for their young child who was really "into" Batman.

A good hit to the head can certainly cause seizures I have an older sister that had some similar problems after a childhood accident (she has been fine for a long time).   It certainly seems odd for it to not show for 20 years.  thanks for sharing the story.
