few fast friday fragments

If you are here for the second day of BlogFestivus then you are on the right blog but wrong post. On most Fridays I post a Friday Fragment which was started by our leader, teacher from the land of ice, cheese and Packers - Mrs. 4444 on her blog. The first day BlogFestivus post is the one just previous this one and second day post should be the next one.

Mommy's Idea

My FF post starts here.

The dumbest car commercials of the year are back on again. Maybe these commercials are for the 1% people. I don’t know. I do know I’ve never met anyone who gave or received a car as a Christmas gift. A little red wagon sure but red luxury sports car with a big bow - never.

I believe I heard the following line in a song but I don’t remember its name.
Does walking get too boring when you learn to fly?

I disclaimed my disclaimer once. I thought the lawyer was going screw himself.

Honestly most of my fragments lately have been centered around the BlogFestivus challenge. It’s a fun challenge. Do you know how many different types of birds there are in that 12 day song?

My first day post of 12 was scheduled to post automatically early in the morning.  I always just publish my post after a quick preview and never bother with scheduled posting.  So I thought I had it all set-up.  I didn't.  I guess in addition to the date and time setting you still need to click the publish button.  Been blogging for over 5 years and I'm still learning.

Heh ... well, I'm eagerly awaiting the rest of your Blogfestivus challenge ... to remind me of all the things my true love should be giving me ... :)

according to the all-knowing Google the line 'does walking get too boring when you learn to fly' is from a song called 'Gypsy' by a lady named Shakira ...

Enjoy Festivus. Your deserve it.  Actually, my dad gave my mom a car for Christmas one year after she had one of the worst years of her life, healthwise. It was a surprise and yes, it lifted her spirits! And if lifted their debt!

I schedule posts all the time and yes, you still have to hit the "publish" button. Don't feel bad though, we all keep learning as we go.

Stopping by from FF.

I've never heard of this challenge before, interesting.

I've been on blogger, wordpress.com and wordpress.org (self hosted) and I swear each one is different. I still can't figure out how my blog publishes to twitter and facebook no less than three times - every time I post. I've disconnected all the connections....and yet...

Happy Friday!

Doesn't everybody get a new car for Christmas???

thanks - the mystery of technology - actually the frustration of a bad interface.

thanks for sharing.  The car marketers of course make it appear like it's a common gift which is the point of the ad.  Seems like a dumb approach to sell a car.

thanks for that research - now it makes sense because I have that song.  Maybe you don't know Shakira but I bet you would enjoy researching her videos.

The song lyric looked familiar so I looked it up, too, but I see I was beat to it! It wasn't the song I thought it was, but I did come up with Shakira, too. =)

Hope you have a great weekend!

thanks - I remember the line because it does have a deep meaning.  It's a good one to remember to keep your ego in check.

The Blogfestivus sounds worth hanging around for!  There are a lot of birds in the song and I would be pretty mad if my true love gave them to me because that's a lot of bird droppings.  Every year, I hope I get one of those cars with a big red bow but without the payments!

lisleman said...

Please do hang around.  I have two of the days posted.  It doesn't run on the "normal" 12 days but from the Dec 1 to Dec 12.
Of course the red bow would come without payments what kind of gift would that be with payments.  Here's your car and 10% loan payable over the rest of your life.  Santa the loan shark.

No one I know

I just asked my husband if he knew of anyone who had gotten a car and he said that his Dad gave his Mom a car once for Christmas.  So there's one.  Before that moment, I would have said that I didn't know anyone who had either.  Now I guess I do!

Well I'm glad to help you learn a bit of family history.  I think there was another comment similar to your story.  Ok maybe it's not that rare.  Do you want to buy me a car? - a dark green would be nice.

I've been there on the Oops thing, of course. Fortunately, you're not an air traffic controller.

As if a man and a woman would ever share the same ideas on which car to buy anyway.

Thanks for linking up. Have a wonderful weekend :)

air traffic controller - ha funny back when I developed software we would joke about it being good thing our product was not in the medical field when it crashed.  Good point about the car.  thanks
