old has character

Old gets a bad rap most of the time.  However, old pictures and their time travel features are prized.

Here's two old pictures found in a collection of our parents slides.  (oh for the digital youngsters that have never seen a slide - they were an inexpensive option for film processing.)

my Dad

little me

I found the following picture on the blog "The Nifty Fifties".  Even back in the 50's this lady was putting her web on instead of going on the web.

My dad has racks of slides too. I want to get them digitally stored. Maybe that could be a Christmas present for him.

Real vintage.  Love them.  Have a beautiful Sunday. :)

I've done over 100 and it is very time consuming.  I almost bought a scanner but after reading the bad reviews decided against it.  What finally worked the best was a small light (8x10 or so) tray, small vise and my digital camera.  You have to position and focus each shot so it is very time consuming.  Do you still have a slide projector?  We got a hold of one and reviewing the old slides with the family was fun.

Looks like your dad was quite the fisherman!  Old photos are fun to sort through every now and then.  It's the perfect trip down Memory Lane on a cold or rainy day for me.
Thanks for sharing, jj

I love your old pictures!  My father has plenty that I love, too. I'm visiting from Sundays In My City.

more?  I have tagged/labeled most of the posts about my stories as "memories" so please take a look through those when you have extra time.  I wonder what interesting childhood story I could post.  The few I remember I don't remember that well.  thanks

Very early on I gave my husband a slide projector as a gift. Slides are cool.

I love that picture of you and your buddies! It reminds me of Ralphie & Co. from A Christmas Story.

That was my favorite movie until I shot my eye out.
