frosted friday fragments

No Suzy snowflakes yet but the cold wind is nipping my ass.  I'm sure it is colder by Mrs. 4444's place but I don't think it will slow the flow of fragments.  Head over to her blog for some warm words and hot links.

Mommy's Idea

Blog mergers, do they happen? Do they work? Blogs are by definition very personal so I don’t think a merger would work. For example would “Unknown 4444” work as a blog? But starting a rumor might be fun.

I’m a belt buckle short of keeping my pants on. Now that the weather change has me digging for warmer clothes, I am so glad I don’t wear a kilt. A few years ago before I had regular visitors, I posted this song about cold wind and a kilt.

This catching tune covers kilts and the universal question;
What do you do with a drunken sailor early in the morning?

(I don't know how they handle the cold windy weather in Scotland.)

A post on Technobabe’s Adventures had me leaving this comment.
You know the saying about walking in my shoes. Well women tend to have many more shoes than men and maybe that has something to do with understanding them.

I figured out why texting is so popular with teens. When they text they don’t need to use the work ‘like’. The conversation actually goes faster than actual talking since ‘like’ is not every fourth word or so. My brain like had this like thought so like I wanted you to like know.

Feel like dancing? Good way to warm up. I always enjoyed dancing to “Love Shack”. (Oh I really can’t dance but who cares - that’s the reason for the drinks.)

I am guilty of saying like, on a regular basis. I, like, hang my head in shame.

Is there no way to stop it?  I probably say 'uh' too much, you know, whatever.
thanks for coming out of the like closet.

What a wacky world out there!

I love your fragments!  So you have figured why teens love to text!  And you have started a rumour!

lisleman said...

Some parts of wacky are entertaining.  thanks

Hey you may be right on the 'likes'? Generally I prefer texting too since I don't like
talking on the phone all that much. Looks like you have an abundance of pumpkins
in your past though? Hang on, the cold is coming but no frost South of you yet. W.C.C.

lisleman said...

Please spread the rumor.  thanks

thanks for stopping by.  Yes those were pumpkins from past years.  The one picture is almost prehistoric.  thanks

I don't know, I think Unknown 4444 sounds interesting. Or maybe A Few 4444 Short?

So are you saying you would like the Unknown 4444 rumor circulated? Ha.

What is it about "like" anyway? When we were growing up, the teachers would try to get us to stop the "uh" several times in a sentence. Now the kids do "like". Maybe someday people won't ever have to use their vocal cords, just send thoughts and others receive the thoughts on their implanted receivers.

You are so right about women having more shoes, as well we should, we have so many more jobs to fill.

Thanks for the explanation for teens preferring texting--I think it's nuts.

Stopping by from FF.

Or Mrs. Unknown Clown. Now THAT would be a great rumor!LOL

I really shouldn't read blog posts so early in the morning. Did my comment take? Anyway, I wanted to add that we must be on the same wave length, as I have lost both my belts since last night! I remember thinking, "I should put those away," right before I went to bed. Who know s where I put them....

Have a great weekend. Thanks for linking up! :)

Will you carve that jack o lantern for me.  I am too lazy but it looks cool

Very funny post.

Oh my - - - TMI about the wind and the kilt.

lisleman said...

Our daughter carved that one last year.  She did a few of them.  Here's the post about it from last year.

thanks

I tend to think your belts serve a different purpose than my belt.  Certainly when you wear one with a dress.  I would suggest those nasty gremlins that hide things but in your case it probably was that baby doll you told us about that did it.

Have a great weekend too.

You score a point with that last line.  I also think 'like' replaced 'uh' but what a bad replacement that was.  Are you predicting some ESP type thought transfer technique?  Wow that would more dangerous than drunken texting or phone calls. Guys would be getting slapped continuously.  I sure hope your prediction is wrong.  Yes please spread the rumor - it's a fun one I think.  thanks

Dear Ladies lets be sure we are being professional about our rumor development.  We don't want to end being A Few Clicks Short of a Pageview.  Here's a thought - how many Unknowns would be in a cluster of 4444 Clowns?

Laurie said...

Like, well, yeah. Texting is like cool, you know? And it's cool here, too. I had to wear socks last night! That's serious cold, folks!

lisleman said...

Based on your fragment Friday post - you should wear rubber boots to bed.

I swear....you can tell I'm one of those 'ancient' old schoolers.  I just don't understand teen lingo these days anyway...like, you know what I mean.

My Friday Fragments.  Won't you stop by if you have a chance?

lisleman said...

The overused "like" is one of the easier parts of the lingo.  I'm still trying to figure out "snap".  I'll check out your post.
thanks

"..I’m a belt buckle short of keeping my pants on."  Haaaa, too funny!  I left Scotland at age 8, but the memory of those 6ft snowdrifts still chill me to the bone.  I reckon you can do just about anything you like with a drunken sailor, he probably won't remember much of anything about it come the morn..!

I was once part of a group blog.  It had a general theme (life in Appalachia), but some of us focused more on photography and some on writing, some covered nature, some events, and so on.  It worked.  But I don't think I'd want anyone else posting on "my" blog. Heck, I don't even like reading guest posts on blogs I follow.

lisleman said...

You said it worked, so are you still part of it?  I guess you don't know what you are going to get with a guest post but I've read some that are good.  They do offer a different view usually.  Hey you could write a guest post for me.  Go ahead send me something.
thanks

lisleman said...

So how do they do the kilts in winter?  Oh maybe only drunken sailors wear them in cold weather.  thanks

brainella said...

I blame the Valley Girls for the word "like" -- like totally.

lisleman said...

Yes that could be the source.  I wonder why they were never called the beach girls since the beach is more popular than the valley.  Surfer girls is good term too.  thanks totally!

I'm not sure about merging blogs but you certainly picked two fabulous ones to try.
