Flipping Fragments

Friday Fragment (FF) time again.

Thanks Mrs. 4444.
Happy New Years !
(just trying to be early on something for once)

Blown out Santa

I suspect it’s the season and readers are just too busy. I’ve noticed a drop in comments on a few recent posts. Heaven forbid I’ve come down with the condition Witzelsucht.

It’s a bad joke condition in which the patient's uncontrollable tendency to pun, tell inappropriate jokes and pointless or irrelevant stories at inconvenient moments is very noticeable.

()(I should find a candy cane divider thing)()

Setting the bar - I don’t because it would be so low someone might trip.

()(I should find a candy cane divider thing)()

I know annoying dumb ads are run on many channels but I suspect the business channel (CNBC) might run even more of them. The ones I find really annoying are the ones suggesting you give someone a luxury car for Christmas.

Really - I checked with my wife and neither one of us know anyone who has done this. If you do, just keep it to yourself and skip to the next fragment.

One that gets me yelling at the screen (what you don’t do that?) shows this lady surprising her man with the car IN THE FRICKING LIVING ROOM. In the extremely unlikely event that ever happened to me, I would be pissed off because the ruined floor, door, etc. Oh thanks dear, I’m so excited, stand back, I’m going to run right through the picture window now.

()(I should find a candy cane divider thing)()

Another WTF or is it me thought - What’s with the weird auctions lately? Did you see these on the news:
  • Auction of a UK aircraft carrier.
  • Lee Harvey Oswald's coffin on auction. (Really this could not wait until after the holidays?)
  • 52 year old gingerbread house (e-bay)

The gingerbread house seller gave a great answer to a question about it having been treated with anything. He wrote back, “You'd be much better off and safer eating the box it comes in....” Could you imagine having a gingerbread house older than yourself (I wouldn’t have that problem but I’m sure some of you are younger)

Hey I put together a special Christmas video clip so stay tune.

What, you can't get a car in your living room?

I guess if I lived in a garage I could.

I got a real kick out of your divider... funny!
As always.
Have a great weekend :)

NEVER eat the gingerbread house or the candy-- It's older than me :-)
And the cars as gifts-- Who does that anyway ?!?!?!
Happy holidays, jj

Who killed Santa?!?!?!
I have never received a car for Christmas, and it's a pretty safe bet that I never will. Although if anyone out there would like to get me one, I'd prefer a dark blue Chrysler Town & Country minivan. Just saying.
LOVE your divider!

I agree with that theory about eating the box instead....I know alot of things where the box would taste better!

Visiting from Friday Frags- have a great weekend!

I say the same thing about those commercials every freaking year. Does anyone actually do that? I can't even begin to describe how pissed I'd be.

Yo, lisleman, I have my computer out of the Apple store and am ready to rock and roll again. I like the pic of the blown out Santa. Would like to do just that to a few politicians. Ha.

Crazy commercials--I hardly ever watch because I usually just watch things I record a zip the commercials. Even if we do watch live, we mute the commercials so they aren't as annoying. I do like the funny one of the three grown men with the little kid voices talking about food I think. That one I watch, but I can't even tell you what they are advertising.

Look forward to seeing your Christmas video.

Stopping by from FF.

The sick thing is, someone will buy Oswald's coffin, and for a lot of money.

I think Santa looks funnier deflated than when blown up. The other day the thing got caught under the snow and I thought about going over and "saving santa" but the family who set it up might think I'm messing with their decorations.

Hey my friend, I think I've been guilty of Witzelsucht a few times or ten. One or two or eight of them have gotten me in trouble too.

No luxury cars here for Christmas. Come to think of it, no cars of any kind for Christmas.

lisleman said...

hi, you are the first one to comment on Witzelsucht. That's one of the benefits of FF posts, there's plenty of variety to pick from.
Cars? We might see a matchbox car or two this year.

Thanks for the auction listings, now I have ideas on what to get my husband -NOT!

Hey if your looking for some ebay stuff I have some hats that didn't sell (now that's a sales pitch NOT) - Never worn baseball style hats with the Milwaukee Tools logo on them. I'd do a barter with you. 2 hats for a month of promotion.

Absolutely brilliant, l-man!

If they're auctioning Oswald's coffin, what the hell happened to Lee Harvey, Occupant?

What do you mean, wait until after the holidays? I know several people for whom the LHO coffin would be the perfect gift.

For my part, the only reason I haven't commented lately is because life has gotten in the way. Keep up the brilliant blogging, and I promise to catch up soon!

I totally agree with the car in the living room thing, plus my husband would be beyond ticked! Who gets a car for Christmas, really???! I am with you there if someone did get one I don't want to know.

Love the santa pic.

Stopping by from the wonderful MRS. 4444's.

thanks
There was some question about whose body was buried where years ago so he was exhumed and got a new coffin.

During my visits to the US (many moons ago), I noticed they sell a lot of medicines. Mostly for stomach acids or something. Ads are a form of education. Car for Christmas, a great slogan.

Happy New Year, lisleman. You are the first to wish me this year. It shall go on the record.

Why would anyone want any of those auctioned things?

I don't know about everyone else, but I've been insanely busy. Lately, I just catch up every few days.

I would not call them education. It is more like big drug companies convinces people they have problems so they ask their doctor to give them the drug being sold.

I used to work with a guy (about 58 years old now, a Upper) who told one pun after another. We all loved him, though there was a lot of groaning going on in the teacher's lounge. One of his favorites, if you said, "I need to write that down," was, "Not to be overstepping, but you really should write that across."

My favorite part about these fragments is your divider :) Love it.

lisleman said...

It wasn't me, but I could imagine thinking the same thing he said. Are puns one of those things that you either love or hate?
