exercise and me

NOT

Think about this funny question/thought I recently found in a cartoon by Randy Glasbergen (www.glasbergen.com).

The doctor says, “What fits your busy schedule better, exercising one hour a day or being dead 24 hours a day?”

I laughed so much I needed to take a nap. No really, I get that the exercise thing is important. I just hate it and always have.

I even have trouble spelling exercise (usually excerise comes out). I hated track back in high school. I don't like to sweat. The only physical exercise I liked was the activities with a game involved. I dated a tennis player once so tennis was good exercise at the time (God she could whip me on the court every time). Courting on the court is for lawyers and judges.

Some people get addicted to exercise. That can’t be good. But as addictions go that’s probably a better one if you can afford the gym fees.

Back to those options the doctor offered. What about a third option? Being a zombie. They are only half dead as in 12 hours a day right?

(one more pic of my pacing abilities)

Speaking of zombies (how often do we say that?) a former co-worker got a gig in a Sears zombie commercial. Sears is going after the zombie market now. Talk about “a few clowns short of a circus”. Well it is fun to see familiar face in an ad (BTW - she didn’t wear her makeup at work that way).

I probably could exercise like a zombie. They move slow like I do.

Here’s health idea. Maybe I should go on a comment diet/routine. You start blog browsing and dropping your comments all over and before you know it you will have forgotten to eat. (will this idea be as good as my “Fat Ass Donuts” idea?) Comments help you lose weight - go ahead try it. Right here right now.

Oh, man, I feel you! I am winded just typing this sentence!

see that wasn't too hard. Now be careful not to use too many multisyllabic words like multisyllabic. You do need to pace yourself.

I don't really like to exercise either - I have to trick myself and do it first thing in the morning before I'm fully awake. I for sure can't do it for very long. Way too many other things I'd rather be doing. I don't get marathon runners!

The marathon runners are the addicted ones. Before you are fully awake? Do you ever have accidents?
My morning exercise is making coffee.

I ex-er-cise regularly. Not because I want to or like to, but because I have to. Keeps me fit and young. Otherwise, I'd be nothing but a zombie.

You don't look like you are out of shape but I understand that it is good for us mentally as well as physically to be moving, not always sitting. Right now we are keeping busy getting ready for our move this weekend and usually we exercise to aerobics and walking tapes. We also have our bikes. We still have our tennis racquets so after we move and get through winter in the new house we will do some tennis too.

I'm right there with you Lisle! I have great intentions but something always gets in the way. ;-)

I wonder if that ad went over well??

something always gets in the way - yeah for me it's usually my body.
I don't really know but I think the ad is an online only type of thing.

keep moving (your body not your home) is great advice. Thanks for nice words about the shape of things.

but isn't a zombie the "in" thing?

no problem - it's always good to share the sources of the items being shared (did that make sense?)

I enjoy walking, but I really wish I could learn to love running. Runners are always in great shape, have lots of energy and are never overweight. Unfortunately, I can't seem to like it much less love it.

lisleman said...

Don't know if this will make you feel better but runners also have more blown out knees and other leg issues.

Yeah, I hear ya! I like to walk, when it's pleasant out, but that's about it. Occasional skiing or swimming or riding a bike. But mostly, I walk.

Swimming was a really favorite for many years. I enjoy the water.
thanks for sharing.

I feel skinnier already!

I love the commercial. I'm impressed by SEARS fun attitude on this one. :)

You are getting a work out with the comments you are sharing just on these past few posts here.
I guess Sears is trying out viral youtube ads. I don't know if the zombie thing makes sense but it was funny.

I hate to go to the gym but I'm forced to do so because of my health condition. It's part of the plan given to me by my doctor so I could recover asap.

Thanks for exercising with by sharing a comment. I hope your health keeps improving.
