Help the list is wrong

Did you read about RollingStone Magazine’s top ten Beatles songs of all time?

Here’s the top 3:
  1. A Day in the Life
  2. I Want to Hold Your Hand
  3. Strawberry Fields Forever

Beatles fans could just say Let It Be, but Something tells me not to be so Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da about their list. Their number 1 song is just wrong. It’s a good song but I think all their songs except Revolution 9 were good.

I agree with the remaining seven on their list but missing from the top ten is Get Back and Revolution.

Do You Want to Know a Secret?

You do know, Everybody's Got Something To Hide Except Me And My Monkey.

Well I don’t have a secret but I suspect RollingStone picked that somewhat odd song Because they want to start a little controversy for PR reasons.

Hey Jude, Hey Bulldog, don’t you think some Norwegian Wood should be thrown on this list?

I’m no Paperback Writer and you aren’t Polythene Pam either. But this doesn’t mean we have to go along with Mean Mr. Mustard editor and act like a Nowhere Man with no point of view.

If I Needed Someone, When I'm Sixty-Four, I hope they are smarter than The Fool On The Hill editor of this list.

So just go on thinking like Yesterday, While My Guitar Gently Weeps. Come Together and We Can Work It Out. I’ll be here waiting for your comment.

Oh by the way, you can Drive My Car.
Hello, Goodbye!

You are seriously a master at this.

Thank you. I wish there was good word for what "this" is called. It's fun to create. Do you know how many times you have been the first to comment here?
thanks again.

Ha ha! Awesome. I tried to do a post like this with Neil Diamond tunes but it got really lame and I deleted it. You have pulled it off, my friend.

Hmmm - never heard of them ... were they famous? Seriously I have heard of them and a couple of their songs but there is no way I could have ever NAMED 10 songs much less in order of popularity. Interesting. W.C.C.

Haha ... good one lisleman - I guess it's all subjective - I would have included "I Am The Walrus" on the list ...

WOW, this is great!
How long did it take to write?
Did you hum while writing? :)

The best Beatles songs happened as solo artists AFTER they broke up.

thanks. I liked the post you did on bad music in the 80's. Suggestion - rewrite that one with bad hair of the 80's. It will be a hit.

Neil Diamond - I couldn't do it. Sweet Caroline is fun but how much can you do starting with lame songs?

I have twenty or so in my Itunes. I think I could name at least 10 Beatles songs especially if there was a beer bet on the table. I must admit I had some internet help with a few titles.

lisleman said...

Yeah, I had Magical Mystery Tour (I wish I had that bus) and that was a favorite. Working "I Am The Walrus" into this would be difficult. Looking back my parents must of thought they lost me while I was listening to such titles.

lisleman said...

Hum ? that would have ruined it. You have not heard me hum. I was playing Beatles songs while doing it. The actual sitting down writing and posting took maybe 2 hours but I had been thinking about it off and on for a few days.

You are bear aren't you? Go poop in the woods, we're having some fun here. Ok, everyone has an opinion and music is heard differently by all. Three of them did great songs after the split but Ringo? I don't think so. While I thinking of Ringo, go check out Blame It on Ringo.

I really like this kind of creative writings.
I hum often when I plan something...and draw. I need paper and pen(s, many and different type) to visualize...everything. I have photo memory that's why I visualize - easier to remember! :)

I hope they heard from many irate Beatles fans about the number one spot. It's just wrong.

lisleman said...

Thanks for the support. Is there another one on their list that you place on top? Or is it one that's not even on the list?
My favorite would depend on what mood I'm in, but Get Back, and Norwegian Wood are contenders for my top spot.

Hey, really clever!! :D I love most of the Beatles song and never get tired of listening to them.
Well done, my friend!

Those are not my favorite Beaters songs. But 'd have to see a list of all of them to be able to sort through and pick my top ten.

sorry I just noticed your reply.
No I don't know but I suspect it was not sales. Critics of the arts have strange ways of rating things.

You're so danged witty!! I know I say that every week, but you know you never get sick of hearing it, right? :) I'm really not an audiophile, but even I know that #1 pick is a bad one.

It's very nice to have positive feedback. Now if I could Sir Paul to visit the blog that would really be cool. That was very smart of him to write a song about him being 64 so many years early. Kinda of a goal. Note to self - start on "when I'm 64 post" so it will be perfected before I forget.

did I fool you into coming over here again?

Hah, great compilation!!! You must be a major Beatles fan or something ;)?

BLOGitse said...

oh yes you did! :) BUT. I learned my lesson yesterday about commenting...I learned how "old fashion" it is to say...no, I wont repeat my old fashion phrase again. I learned that it's better to shut up if I don't have something relevant to say... BUT I think those who 'know me' knows that sometimes "old fashion" way is better than nothing. Better than silence.
That's how life goes, changes.
First we want whatever kind of comments. But with time we become picky. "Give me more, your greetings are not enough for me. Look all the work I've done for this article. How dare you come here and say only...."etc.
Good thing is, I'm not too old to learn! :) I'll post about this on Monday...

My button is ready on my sidebar...

Ha! Very clever!!

Please tell me the commenter below is kidding about never having heard of "them". Please.

Coming by from Saturday Sampling! Glad I did-this made me smile!

I read your post to my husband while he kept count of how many titles he recognized. He got every single one of them. What fun!

lisleman said...

that's a great idea. I never thought of it as a game.

lisleman said...

thanks - yes I'm sure he was, but he might not have cared much from them.

lisleman said...

major - no just a Sargent in Pepper's band. Thanks I've enjoyed them since I was a teenager.

lisleman said...

Thanks - I followed the link and read your "flash fiction". Good stuff.

You are so clever! I thought the list was wrong too!

If I can quiz my husband, I do. He's such a know it all :)

lisleman said...

I did a post about short and long comments. I really don't mind getting a short "hi nice post". Of course it's more fun and interesting to an exchange of ideas going. I've picked up ideas from comments many times.
I'll take a look at your button but I might not get to putting it up on ICB for a day or two.
