I showed this "awesome" site to my wife. She surprised me with the many hours she spent on the site. My wife doesn’t follow celebrities and neither do I. This site is different than the typical celebrity soaked sites. Most of the pictures are not current high trending celebrities. All the pictures are of at least two people.
You have the link above but I’ll share two of the pictures I found there along with my commentary. Let me know if you check out the site. Of course, you might not remember to return.
I don’t know the occasion but these very funny guys don’t look too happy. Not one of them is smiling.
Bogie (Humphrey Bogart) of “Bogie & Bacall” seems to be studying the eye candy in this picture.
All pictures are a snapshot of time. Old pictures seem to tell more of a story. Maybe it’s just the passage of time or something else. Do you think the pictures (millions & millions) of today will have the same effect on future viewers?

It's clear that the funny men (like the rest of us) are lamenting their expanding waistlines as they enter their 'Q-tip' years! W.C.C.
Okay, that was a blast! I am not much of a celebrity watcher but it was a lot of fun seeing how many faces I recognized and how many I could actually put names to. Photo's from the past always capture some modern interest even if it is just to see how oddly people dressed... :D
good point about the change in styles. thanks
I love looking at old photos (new ones, too, actually) so I'd like to think the photos of today will have the same effect - a window to a past time. Thanks for sharing these! (I wonder if Bogie got in trouble for that one?)
Good question. I didn't even know he was married to Bacall until I was checking the background on the picture. Those Hollywood marriages seem very different than most to me. thanks
That looks to be a really great site - oh no, like your wife I think I could spend some hours there too.
Strangely when I was a teenager I was besotted with Humphrey Bogart and Lauren Bacall. Not even sure why now. I also had an obsession with James Dean too.
I guess most women got used to their partners paying Marilyn such attention. did you ever see the film A Week with Marilyn - very interesting indeed. Movie stars were more mysterious in those days weren't they? Unlike today when you know absolutely everything about them.
I will have to catch up with what you have been up to in the last month or so here - I hope 2013 is a great one for you, your wife, children and grandchildren.
Absolutely...they way we look at black and white, the future 3D photographers will look at our measly 2 dimensional photographs
What an awesome site! And ha! I came back. ;) The picture of the comedians is really interesting -- it definitely tells a story, but I wonder what that story is.
Lots of people are interested in photos of the past, whether it's of family or strangers. There's the clothing, the setting -- I always love to see "old" Chicago, for example.
Thanks for the link. That is an awesome site. I don't get into celebrity watching in our modern age but I love the old pictures.
Gosh, I can see why the four funny men aren't smiling. They realized they aren't in their 30's anymore.
I like the ones you choose. Funny (maybe not) how the comedians look so serious. Perhaps it was the morning after a long night of drinking. LOL
And Bogie looking downward got a chuckle out of me.
Have a wonderful day!
Interesting that you were enamored with that couple. Yes times were much different. I think more people figured out they could make money off of celebrities and they did. thanks for the wishes and same to your family for 2013.
yeah who knows what type of photography we will have. Maybe like the holograms depicted in Star Wars movies. thanks
thanks for coming back. We have a book of old Chicago pictures. I think the Tribune published it.
Looking downward is a common problem among men. thanks.
I was actually thinking about this driving home from work yesterday - how we have all of this old stuff in museums, things from pasts long ago and things from the not-so-distant past, like the victorian museum in my own town. I was thinking that at some point the things from my own childhood could become museum artifacts, and how generations from now people would look back on archived pictures and everyday objects and I wondered what kind of guesses they would make about us, as a people.
And the millions and millions of pictures that exist with the current technology can certainly complicate the interpretation process - I only hope more survive than just the duckface awkward facebook profile pictures!
How interesting that you used the word "duckface". My Friday (FF) post tells about how I just discovered that term. I still need to finish that post.
Yes unless all our digitally recorded lives get erased there will be more than enough for future people to study if they care enough to bother.
