didn't go but I got the album

Woodstock - 1969 - yeah I remember -

the album.

Actually, the album and the movie came out in 1970. I remember seeing the movie at a drive-in. That year my older sister gave me the album for Christmas. She was a little embarrassed when she saw this picture on the inside.

Thanks Sis, it is one of my favorite gifts.

I dug it out the other day after I was reminded by some discussion on the radio about the concert. It was probably the first "live" album I ever had.

This is printed on the back of the album:
"...Technical flaws, resulting from equipment failure as well as human overload are inevitable in a venture of this size. Just as inevitably, some of them occur in the material included in this album. Consider them like the scars in fine leather, proof of the origin and authenticity of the material in which they are found."

I believe I first read that piece just the other day when I dug the album out. Can you imagine words like that on an album today. Today, it would be:
Dude, it's live so deal with it.

It was tough being a teen. I couldn't even decide on a hair style.

@unknown mami - ok coming from someone who wears a bag on their head, I would expect more understanding. Really it's just from a cool site I found - go over to yearbookyourself.com

@yorksnbeans - I do have bushy hair and probably could have been governor of Illinois. See above reference for the site.

LOL thats fun! Err love the looks. Woodstock wasnt too big in my lfie but it seems to have influenced so many people. Things seemed a lot more freer then than they are now though. And what a lovely sister you have to give this to you and better still that you have always treasured her gift.

@lilly - as always thanks for stopping by - By your comments I noticed you read a few posts thanks.
Woodstock and whole social movement to change things did have a big impact, but I think some of the wild stuff is mostly over blown by the media. I'm not sure my lovely sister has read this yet, but she should.
