Let the blog games continue.
TechnoBabe's Adventures has tagged me in a blog tag game. Like anything I'm sure there are different opinions of these blog games. They are a little silly but I believe people do need to lighten up more and it's a good way to learn about other blogs.
The game is simple. Tell the readers 7 items about yourself and tag some other bloggers. Here's my entry in the game.
- While in Catholic grade school, the thought of becoming a priest lingered in my mind for a short time. After noticing some cute girls on the playground the thought faded away.
- My mother was an immigrant from Slovenia. She arrived as a child. My wife and I were fortunate a few years ago to visit her village and see her birth house.
- I believe random chance plays a bigger role in our lives than people want to believe. I just finished a good book on this subject, "The Drunkard's Walk" by Leonard Mlodinow.
- Discussing politics can be engaging face-to-face but not in-your-face. After September 11, I became a news junkie and paid more attention to politics but that was not the first big terrorist attack in the US that I noticed. The Oklahoma City bombing event is just as disturbing. I've been to the site a few times.
- I listen to the lyrics of songs. I thought everyone did but found out that many don't.
- I rediscovered during the last 10 years the Electric Blues which has a strong home presence in Chicago. Like many kids of the sixties I failed to realize that the British rock stars of the time where influenced by Chicago Blues artists.
- I enjoy reading Chicago Tribune columnist Mary Schmich who wrote:
"...Advice is a form of nostalgia. Dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for more than it's worth."
To continue the game, I need to tag some other bloggers. I enjoy many blogs, so picking ones to tag is difficult. Please take a look at my blogroll for favorite blogs.
Since I want to learn more about other cultures, I going to tag 4 bloggers from outside the US.
Thinking about tags, I hope you know that the post tags are very useful in finding related posts on a blog. So click on the memory tag and browse through my posts related to memories.
