more art to share

Grand Rapids has nice places to reflect and good reflections. Today I have more pictures from the Art Prize that I wrote about about a week ago.

cute guy sharp feet

If you have not picked up on my attraction to odd stuff then maybe you have not read enough of my blog. The Art Prize offered plenty of odd entries. Some of them were a pun. Like this "wall eye". If you don't fish never mind.

big walleye

I didn't like every entry. This one was just an old SUV with flat tires and a huge board running through the front seat area. It was so dumb it attracted people just trying to figure it out.  I think the artist ran out of time or creativity.

A good artist floats his/her head in the clouds looking for inspiration.

Has art ever made you hungry? This piece started a craving for a candy bar.

do you have a favorite?

The car piece is actually kind of scary - like an accident. That one creeps me out. I have noticed your interest in peculiar things. Makes me laugh. Your first photo is awesome! And the Wall Eye is pretty clever.

Always fun to get a comment pop up shortly after I click publish. Thanks. It didn't really make think of an accident so I just thought it was sorta dumb. Good to know you get a laugh from here.

I've always liked the look of older buildings reflected in newer ones.

The walleye is a neat piece.

I did enjoy the first picture, and it wasn't even in the contest. Great shot.

I love the Wall Eye. I am not too sure about the people hanging from the ceiling. But hey? If you like it, that's cool with me.

While I won't travel there just for shots of the buildings I did look around for a good reflection shot. thanks

Oh c'mon use your imagination and forget that there is a ceiling there. It couldn't be installed outside because after the first rain it would be ruined. Walleye makes for tasty dinners. thanks

Yes that old/new makes a good contrast. I like reflections off of buildings because of the distortion. thanks

maybe some are just too odd.
thanks

Well I was watching the Walking Dead and zombies were literally falling through the roof. Bad timing ha ha

Yes the mirrored glass and steel are very popular for building architects. Did you hear about the one in London that was focusing the light strong enough to melt a car side mirror? Buildings can mess with the weather. thanks

I thought you would like it. It's the Wisconsin state fish - right?

I'm used to you and your penchant for oddities, I don't find it odd at all.
