little purple forrest

If I were a bee (which I couldn't be because the bees we see flying around flowers are all female) I would see this as a forest of purple trees.

If I were the flower gardener (my wife) I would know the name of this flower.

Just a little purple to link-up with the many photo posts collected at Unknown Mami's blog.

I like your purple forest. I think it would be great to have a forest like that for humans. Nice pictures.

I can't get a sense of scale in that photo. Are they perennials? At first I thought salvia, but I think the flowers are too fuzzy.

I have that too. Don't know it's name, but the bees like it and that's OK with me. To Secret Agent Woman, it is a perennial, and maybe a foot tall--in my garden.

I love comment that help others in the comment section. Nice to know I have helpful followers. Since you don't recall the name I don't feel so bad. Yes they are perennial since I've seen them for a few years now. About the same height as yours. thanks.

Joanne has left a comment related to your question. They are perennials and like hers about a foot tall. Neither one of us has the name. I suspect a comment will show up giving us the name.
thanks

thanks - so for you purple forest for humans would you want to be smaller or the flowering purple tree looking plants that much bigger? Being that tiny could have its disadvantages but as a species cockroaches and other insects do pretty well. My mind is wandering again, maybe I should reread Gulliver's travels.

Very pretty. Are those a form of Lupine? I garden but if not for the name tags on the plants I get a lot of them confused.

Let's hope there is no chance you are reincarnated as a male bee. As your one job is to fertilize a queen but it's going to be a one time deal.

I guess I could look it up but I think the male bees only live for about a week maybe less. Yes that is their only duty during their short life.
thanks

I did look it up because I wanted to know what your job was if you come back as a bee. WELL...it's not good news. The drone fertilizes the queen but his little bee business (ya know what I mean) stays in her and is ripped off of him. ...causing him to die. Try not to come back as a bee.

Is it Pride of Madeira? And what do I get if I'm right? Which I might be because it's one of the only plants I know unless I'm drunk and not looking at it right, which is totally possible.

thanks - that bee fact was one that stayed in the depths of my mind after I learned it sometime ago. I did post (book review would be too kind of a term) on a very interesting book titled "Sex on Six Legs".

I think you are right. I just did a quick look online. thanks. Now about the issue of drinking while browsing.
