Foxy Friday Fragments

Foxy Lady - (according to wikipedia the title “Foxey Lady” was a typo on the US and Canadian version of Jimi’s album) I thought the phrase was a very complimentary description of a woman. Towards the end of the song Jimi sings, “you make me feel like, uh like, saying foxy”. I wonder if Jimi forgot his words and was just ab libbing.

Don’t forget your words and fragments. Collect, sort, alphabetize, revise, them. Just write them down. Post them up. Then share your post link at the fragment central - Mrs. 4444’s blog.

Half-Past Kissin' Time

A Few Clowns Short doesn’t have much of a theme other than the vague “lighten-up” idea.  However, the past three posts here all included a song related to the post. I don’t suspect readers come here to find music or music reviews. I certainly enjoy music and sharing so you’ll like see three posts in row have music included again. (oh the only way I carry a tune is to carry a MP3 player in my pocket)

The common phrase, “I read blah blah about blah” now requires me to tack on “on real paper”. Is that nuts or what? This cyber connected gadget carrying culture of ours is hand writing its thoughts/stories/directions less and less with every smartphone purchase.

Recent FB status post of mine - Today I did something I have not done in a long time. I hand-wrote a letter. Paper, pen, words, envelope, and stamp - a lot more involved than a text. I hope it will last longer. My granddaughter should be getting a letter in a few days. Everyone should try writing a letter. It's very retro and fun.

Kids can be so honest and blunt. Grandkids can remind you of your age with just a short reply. I shared the following little story in comment the other day:
One of our granddaughters was talking with me about upcoming Mother's Day. I told her that my mother was gone. After a bit she asked about my father. Sadly I had to tell her that he is gone too. She paused and quite frankly told me that's what happens when you get old. Put's a smile on my face just retelling the story.
mom up to bat

Mother’s Day is this weekend. Did you know Google set-up a special page for moms? check it out.

Happy Mother’s Day to all the moms, even the foxy ladies ones.

Remember bloggers, stay strong, post-up, comment and be forever linky.

Things always change but I didn't expect handwriting to change like that. One of grandkids' schools only teach cursive in art class.

thanks - I enjoy sharing pages that are fun. A slinky giveaway for a linky contest would be fun.

Yes and there are times I wish I could speak unfiltered too.

I remember the picture of your mother from a G+ posting with the group, Blast from the Past. She looks like a great lady.

Good memory. Yes I think I post another one with her for that G+ meme. I have not posted an old picture for that Thursday thing in a long time. thanks

I still like paper, and definitely love getting real mail. There is something special about a hand written letter. I have letters from my childhood, and think this generation is going to be missing that. I'm not sure they'll know it, but I know it. Great picture of your mom!

Unfortunately most of the real mail I get is bills or junk. It is nice around birthdays and holidays to get cards. I agree they are going miss not having more letters and hand written things. thanks

I was just reading through some old letters today. Seems like such a nostalgic thing now.

lisleman said...

yes they do. thanks

It's too bad that old letters get tossed or ruined. There is more of a connection with words that were hand written. thanks
