a june fragment

You don’t need pretzel logic to write Friday Fragments (FF) but it might help. The logical place to find more FF posts is over at Mrs. 4444’s blog.

Mommy's Idea

Steely Dan once offered the following logic:

Yes I’m dying to be a star
and make them laugh
sound just a record on a phonograph
those days are gone forever
over a long time ago

This past week I made my youngest granddaughter giggle.  It made my day.  She's months away from turning 1 and already enjoys good Papa entertainment.

It’s been a frustrating week. Let’s keep it light here. My minor frustrations involve items such as broken glass, ruined steakburgers, torn up driveway, over heated days and a parking ticket.

Steely Dan also sang:
The man gave me the news
he said, you must be joking son
where did you get those shoes

Hey look that guy is running in clown shoes.

Clown shoes are being sold in sporting good stores (regular readers know I don’t shop much and my news is old). As I walked through the athletic wear section, my eyes were blinded by the day-glow fruity colors, orange, banana and lime. You could work on a road construction crew wearing those colors.

I guess to go along with road construction colors they now sell shoes in bright yellow, red, green and orange. A few were over $100 and one pair had all these glowing colors mixed together like this one I found on the Runner’s World.

she drives me crazy -
This has such a different meaning when your status goes from dating to being married. Actually, I don’t always feel much status being married.

Scrambled Eggs/Oh, my baby how I love your legs -
Don’t know why I wrote that? You didn’t read last Sunday’s post.

Don't forget to check out my slideshow at the bottom of the page.

Hehe Bill ... cool shoes!

... being an engineering type, I bet you could create a robot out of them and scare all the cats in the neighbourhood ... :)

You can't go wrong with Steely Dan. :-)

How did you know Steely Dan is my all time favorite band and I went to their 1993 reunion tour opening night in LA. I still have the tickets. One of the highlights of my life. Yeah, I know. But it is.

lisleman said...

yeah but be sure to get the name right. Steely Stan sucked.

lisleman said...

Hey nineteen - I could be paid to call you that. That must of been a great concert. I've been reelin in the years for a long time and I don't even fish much.
thanks

I assume you are talking about the brown slippers I'm showing off. They wore out but they were nice Alpaca leather. I don't want to scare the cats we need them to eat the chipmunks.

Always enjoyed Steely Dan ... and nice shoes1

Those shoes are ridiculous! haha Happy Fragmenting!

You are one funny guy in those slippers, but if that's all it takes to relieve the frustrations of the week, then wear them with pride.

I love Steely Dan, but I really love the wine aerobics thingie. Cool! Actually it's not even cool, here lately. Heat has been a problem here for a few weeks, even though it's supposed to be cooler in June than for you guys up north.

I have friends who would appreciate your corkscrew humor! As for the sneaks, I haven't visited the athletic department, but at Zumba class this week, the instructor was sporting some bright shoes that looked mighty comfy. I might have to go shopping...

Nancy said...

Funny, but I actually like those running shoes! At least you would be seen!

Wayne said...

Those were indeed some funky shoes.

Love the slippers.....I could not imagine wearing such bright and blinding sneakers....sucks about the parking ticket...and broken glass but laughs from a baby priceless! Have a wonderful weekend!

lisleman said...

Yes the good, the bad and the ugly. I should have used that title but it was your comment that just gave me the idea. thanks.

lisleman said...

I could run faster but I got funk on my shoes. thanks

lisleman said...

Seen running away from all the clown haters. We all have different taste. Hey are you going to finish what's on your plate?
thanks

lisleman said...

I found the corkscrew pic on G+ (I think). Comfy is good. thanks

lisleman said...

Damn weather you just can't depend on it. What is the altitude of your location? thanks

lisleman said...

thanks I agree.

lisleman said...

I wish I still had them. They were great in the winter. thanks

Bearman said...

nothing better than fuzzy slippers to make your feet happy

lisleman said...

Happy feet are not just for penguins.
thanks

That's a lot of fragments! My favorites are picturing you making your granddaughter giggle and the wine aerobics!

lisleman said...

Thanks the fragment post is a fun one for me.

You can always make that grandbaby giggle with some of those little machines you make!! I like that Wine Aerobics picture! W.C.C.

lisleman said...

The grandkids enjoy those "junk/recycled" machines until a wire pops off which doesn't take long. I've not been able to make one that could withstand the playful handling of a kid. Thanks for remembering those goofy machines. The Wine Aerobic picture is getting a great review up here. I didn't create it and actually don't know who did.

The city is built on mountainous terrain so it depends on your location. It's generally cited as 1000 meters. I live and work in higher altitudes.

Bill have you gone back to blogger for comments now. I love your furry slippers and I personally love the brightly coloured shoes. I would love an organge pair! I love Steely Dan too as do most of your readers by the looks of things.

And something tells me your little grand daughter has got you wrapped around her little finger already. Just how it should be. Thanks for making me smile as always.

Glad to see the pretzel reference finally explained :)
Loved the wine aerobics graphic (and I don't even drink wine)!
Those smiles from little ones are the best! They have a way of putting all the little stuff in its place, right? :)

"She drives me crazy." Very, very clever.

You would love my new, bright blue sneaks! :)

Thanks for linking up, Bill. Have a great weekend.

lisleman said...

Children do give adults perspective and occasional headaches. Bright blue ? well at least they are not orange or lime green. Has the puppy tasted them yet?

Jennifer Richardson said...

laughing along along about the shoes......do you know
of anything a body could wear
that would look nice with neon orange shoes?
I mean out in public?
yeah, felt old for the first time
buying crosstraining shoes recently.

lisleman said...

I figure that color would go good with either a construction job or a clown suit. thanks

Mrs4444 said...

I could say the same about puppies. I've been supervising him completely, so he hasn't destroyed anything yet, but I did have to buy the bitter apple stuff to put on the computer cords. It works like a charm!

When teaching Vacation Church School a few weeks back, the lady in charge of "movement" had those exact sneakers and a pair of shorts to match. I remember commenting that I wouldn't think one could find sneakers to match that particular pair of shorts and by golly! she did!" They certainly make a statement!

trying a comment from a dell on the road

lisleman said...

maybe she brought them as a matched set. Statement yes - but what type of statement.
