picture perfect place nearby

We are fortunate to live nearby a relaxing green outdoor museum of trees, Morton Arboretum.  I am fortunate to have a wife that enjoys it enough to keep renewing our membership.  It has always had beautiful drives and trails that stretch around hills and ponds.  In recent years they have added a maze and children's interactive section.  I've posted about some of our visits.  Last summer we enjoy a series of evening outdoor concerts.

you can find:
 unusual "tree art"

pink colors reflected on ponds

strange roots seeking water

I loved your pictures!  The tree art is especially cool.  The pink reflecting from the tree was gorgeous. Thanks for sharing.

Wow - what a spectacular place.  I am in love with the painted tree, but the Japanese feel of the tree on the water just sings too.

Yes it looks painted from a distance but it is actually a crocheted tree.   Temporary art.  thanks

Loving  the purple polka-dot tree trunk!

Hey - - - are those REDBUDS in the background????  We had those in Indiana and I never realized how much I liked them until we moved here and don't have any.

Of course, I STILL love it here - - - but have been missing the redbuds this spring.

Those are beautiful pictures. Your wife is so right to keep the membership up, its so worth it and really relaxing. Its a good reminder to me to go and visit our Botanic Gardens here. I love the art tree too and glad its crochet and not paint.
