I started a blog

which started the whole world facebooking

...
Stop, wait, I need to explain.  I tried this once before and some followers might even remember.  I updated it a little.  New and improved.  This time I suggest if you can, play this youtube clip as you read my new lyrics and it should make more sense.  Actually I don't know if it makes any sense and that's the point of it.

I started a blog
which started the whole world replying
But I didn’t see
oh no
that the blog was about me
oh no

I started to write
which started the whole world reading
Oh, if I’d only seen
oh no
that the blog had hooked me

I looked at you tube
ruining my chance as a cool dude
And I fell out of bed
dropping like lead
from rumors I spread

til I finally died
which started the office work flowing
Oh if I’d only seen
oh no
that the blog was all about me

I looked at you tube
ruining my chance as a cool dude
And I fell out of bed
dropping like lead
from rumors I spread

til I finally died
which started the office work flowing
Oh if I’d only seen
oh no
that the blog was all about me
oh oh oh no
that the blog was all about meeee

Ah...if only the Bee Gees could have had you as their songwriter, Bill. Just imagine where they might be today. :)

Ha ha love Susan's comment. I love the Bee Gees and look they are performing where I now live. You are so funny. How about doing a Rolling Stones song.

Oh I don't know too many.  I might need to all the back to MC Hammer.  thanks

thanks for the suggestion.  They are a favorite so I have many to pick from.  A Jumpin Jack Post could give me Sympathy for the Blogger.

Oh the possibilities  -  I could have been responsible for the shorten career of the Bee Gees.   Down-under connections might have given me a chance with Olivia Newton John.
thanks

Love it! Maybe you should continue the Bee Gee's trend by ruining "Staying Alive"!

I think any Bee Gee song is good fodder for a lyrics change if you can handle the falsetto! Maybe a Billy Joel song is a better fit for your talents! W.C.C.

How about, "If I were a blogger" from If I Were A Rich Man, from Fiddler On The Roof.
I fiddled around with that one myself.

Wow. Just wow....  Are you smoking anything when you're blogging, Bill? (just curious.lol)

lisleman said...

what a question.   Just flashbacks from the sixties.  No I'm not smoking anything.  I blog sober.  What a funny question.
OK, I had a far-fetched idea about this parody.  I know you have a great singer in your family since I've seen her in your recent postings.  Any chance she would record this parody and try for a viral youtube clip?

I can't do falsetto or really any singing.  The only way I carry a tune is by carrying a I-pod.  Billy Joel - oh that's  a good idea.  He is another favorite.  We didn't start the blog.
thanks

Did you post your "fiddling"?  That's a good one.  thanks

Did you know they were actually English but moved to Australia when they were kids?  I was a teenager at the right time to know this - high school in the disco era!

lisleman said...

No I did not know that.  I was not too thrill with disco.  thanks

Love your lyrics Bill, they certainly make sense to me!!
How about changing the lyrics to "Losing My Religion" by REM.
Cheers

thanks - I found a parody of "Losing My Religion" that was funny enough to download.  There are many songs to parody.

Had no idea I could search for "parody" songs.  When I'm bored I'll have to add that word to my search list.
The guy does a good version!
