fishing for friday fragments

I’m not going to write anything about Mrs. 4444. If you don’t know about her flock of fragments then you need to blog-around more.

Mommy's Idea

Domination of the muffin
Fruit snack smackdown

Those are a few phrases from a report I read recently regarding the upcoming raisins vs. craisins war. Fruit war - now that’s post material.

Maybe my cereal bowl is just a few raisins short today because I can’t seem to write a full post on war hungry raisins. The raisin growers are financing a $1.5 million anti-craisin campaign. I’ll be honest with you on this - if they would like to throw a piece of their budget my way I would be glad to support them and bad mouth a few craisins.

Yes I know those are peanuts not raisins but they sure do look hell-bent on something.

In a recent reply I wrote, “thanks actually the blog has been running since 2006.” Stop. To be honest the blog was not running in 2006. It was up but barely moving. It stumbled around in the dark for a few years. Even today it falls down the stairs on occasion.

Has our attention span shriveled to the point that we can’t make it to page 2 of google search results?
Remember “platinum blonde”? Sounds expensive right? Is this a sign of the times? What do you think of beer called “Sheet Metal Blonde”? (cheap date?)

Sorry if you were waiting for roses on Valentine’s Day. It’s better if you wait for the prices to drop. But back around that time a radio show was listing good Valentine’s Day songs. I must agree this one was a powerful one back in the days of cruising for chicks.

Those Craisin and Raisin people sound crazy. Give me a good prune any day. Arent' they just big raisins, anyway?

Ann Javoroski said...

Doesn't it seem there should be plenty of room for both raisins and craisins----and prunes in the world?   Weary sighing.......

lisleman said...

crazy - I agree.  A prune is dried special type of plum.  A raisin is a dried grape.  A craisin is dried cranberry but because it's so tart they add sugar.  Just call me fruitopia.

I knew that prunes are plums in disguise. However, we tricked several nieces and nephews with that line. Big raisins. And a natural and powerful laxative.

Sheet Metal Blonde - - - - hehehehehe

I saw your question over at Laurie's place about changing your header - - - I say if you like your header and are happy with it, why change?  Change is over rated.

I've heard of a 'Hoedown'  but a 'Smackdown'? ... sounds like kissing someone to death ... the raisins should have a Showdown with the peanuts ...

... omgosh ... you transported me back to my teenybopper days with that song ... one of my faves then ... still is ...

Love your picture of zombie peanuts eating the one peanut's brain.

Those evil Craisons should never get away with what they have done to those innocent Raisins.  You should have heard what I have through the grape vine about their atrocities.

I sometimes look on page 2 but feel sorry for those on that page...lol! I'm a craisin girl in salads but a raisin girl in cereals though I have had an oatmeal and craisin cookie that was delish!

I love that peanut image...makes me want to draw something.

I had a most enjoyable, fun, time reading your FF today.  This was great...especially the fact that we both could use a bit of donations to stand up and be counted against the 'craisin' infux.  Loved this a lot.

My Friday post is:  THE 'F' WORDS

That's the best thing I've heard all day. I mean that is classic. You just gotta LOVE America!

I remember the California raisin guys. We used to have a couple of the small posable figures. And now...yep, there goes the theme song in my head.

Oh I love that song!!!  Craisins vs. raisins, really?  Wow.  I can think of hundreds of things that could use that million better.  And I will have you know I was platinum blond for years before I stopped wasting money on it ;-)

I can't believe there is a smear campaign against craisins.  Madness, I tell you!

Hey sometimes I  go all the way to page 6 or 7.  thanks

lisleman said...

I'm sure there is room for all good fruits.  We did survive the cola wars  but I think there were a few waistline casualties from all that corn syrup.  thanks

lisleman said...

thanks for the vote on the header.  If I get an idea of what type of change to make I will but it's nice to know others like the current one.

"Smackdown" comes from the fake wrestling industry I believe.  It's fun to be transported back to days of our youth.  thanks

lisleman said...

Hey that's good.  You should consider writing for the raisin growers.  thanks

lisleman said...

When feeling like a rebel I mix raisins and craisins together in the SAME oatmeal dish.  They don't fight it but they tend to stay on opposite sides of the spoon.
thanks

It follows the trend started with the cola wars (you were probably just a kid during that one).  Lots of corn syrup spilled during that.  The country made it through but a few waistlines didn't.
I sure would like be an arms dealer for this raisins vs. craisins war.  I'm  not taking sides just money.

thanks - good to know I shared a laugh.

Being a platinum vs. sheet metal one is a big difference.  I always thought strawberry blonde sounded sweet.
thanks

Oh man, my heart flipped just a bit when I realized those war torn peanuts had stooped to cannibalism.   I'm a raisin kinka gal anyway.

It's a bit frightin' to think so many are searchin' on how to dispose of a body.  Maybe it's a good thing I don't get off the Ponderosa much.

Hey, my daughter Social Butterfly and have a little routine down pat to that great Tommy James number!  Woohoo....those were the days!

Great Frags once again and yes if ya don't know and love that wonderful Mrs. 4444's ya really don't get 'round much.

Have yourself an awesomely blessed weekend my friend!!! :o)

lisleman said...

thanks - You and your daughter sing a duet?  Sounds fun.  Have a great weekend too.

Anti-craisin campaign.  Good Lord.

My blog actually has been up and running since 2006.

lisleman said...

I didn't know it went back that far.  Mine was up but the visitors were far and few between until almost 2010.  thanks

These are really funny, Bill. I also just poked around on your Pinterest page--You've been busy, and I really like your collections. Thanks for linking up :)

thanks for keeping the FF thing going.  I'm amazed by the interest in Pinterest. I think it is because it's fast and takes less time than even writing a comment.
