every creature tells a story

I got a surprise package in the mail. (hope our postal service stays around for a long time)

My anniversary of first breathing air is coming up so when I saw who the sender was, I was able to deduce it was a gift. I was right. I should have taken a picture of the tape job but then my little sister might think I was making fun of her. Nothing new there. I like to say we laugh together.

Turns out the gift is a combo gift from both older and younger sister. They happened to be shopping together which is unusual since they live states apart.

But what is totally unbelievable (you’ll see in the picture below) is how similar this odd gift is to the odd gift my daughter gave me for Christmas. Now these two odd gifts were purchased in different states too. Also my sisters had not heard or seen anything about my Christmas gift. I have not strolled a craft fair in a long time so maybe this type of metal creature is popular.

Here’s the odd metal creature my daughter gave me:

Here’s the surprise gift from my sisters:

They look good together, don’t you think?

I also deduced that I must be good at letting others know of my fondness of odd things.

Every picture tells a story and Unknown Mami has links to many stories/pictures on Sunday.

Nothing shocking.  Your daughter and sisters both know you are a weirdo.  Happy Upcoming Breathing Anniversary.

thanks - your comment has me thinking of a pot, a kettle and the color black.  Breathing Anniversaries are best.

They were clearly meant to be a couple.

Another destiny comment - well I don't know about that but I will say they go together like a matched set.  My daughter told me she can tell they were created by different artists.  Given their sources they probably were.  thanks

Can you tell if they were made by the same artisan? It looks like they MUST have been - - - I mean, both of them seem to have mouths made of objects that look like bottle tops - - -

Ha ha! they are almost like twins. Reminds me of those stories of twins separated at birth and then they found each other again. :D

Speaking of metal things, have you ever read the story of Beyonce, the Giant Metal Chicken?

I was totally unaware of the 5 ft. metal chickens.  How did I miss that?  My metal creatures are less than a foot so they can easily be displayed on a shelf, table, night stand, bathroom counter, china cabinet.
thanks for the link

Wow, they must be by the same artist, thats way to close to be two different people or one of them is in trouble for copying

I don't think a figurine gets copyright protection.  thanks
