do you have the time

You know it must have gone somewhere. Many people have told me they don’t have it.

Who hasn’t lost time?

That’s ok, but do you at least have a moment?

Could we share time together?

Some don’t have a minute to spare. But you don’t own it.

You had it and you let it slip away. You are getting a time out.

Sooner than you think or before you know it, time will come or maybe time will tell.

I would have more of it, if I just did things that took no time at all.

Do you have the same problem as me? People often expect me to do the impossible. “Could you hold on a second!” they say.

Oh sure, I have a minute worth of seconds right here in my hands. Which one do you want? I’ve got all the time in the world, but have no idea how much that is.

Take your time. No, I would rather take yours.

I once posted a timely idea - create Birthday Saving Time.

George Carlin found emotion in a clock face. But he didn’t have digital.

Before I scrolled down to Carlin, this post reminded me of him.  It also reminded me of the old internet chestnut that floats around every so often, "Shit".  I also thought of a favorite quote of Dizzy Dean's my father would repeat.  Dizzy Dean was criticized for his poor English and slangy, country ways.  His response:

"There are a lot of people ain't saying "ain't", ain't eatin'."

Very poetical. I have lots of time this week, but I've been spending most of it (so far) anxious that I won't be productive. Time is a tricky thing.

Yes George was my inspiration for this post.  I never heard that Dizzy Dean saying.  It's a good one. thanks

Maybe you need a time out to think about it.  Being productive is a tricky thing. thanks

I always say I can't account for my time! It's somewhere and I did something case of too much time!

we need to enjoy our time and not account for it.  thanks

Hehe ... good one ... why did the man throw his clock out the window?

He wanted to see time fly ... :)

His take on things is probably the most clever, timeless take as any comedian ever. Funny, funny man!

So funny what you said about holding on a second. :)

Good riddle that has been passed around some.  Why does it always fly when you don't want it to and crawl when you would like it to move along?  thanks

thanks - I can't match George Carlin's word analysis but I certainly understand his thinking.  It's funny how we use phrases that don't make much sense.

I am always saying I never have time which is why I am such a sporadic blogger and blog reader and I love George Carlin. I made time for him. Thanks.

Hey you made time to read and comment so I'm glad.  George Carlin said great stuff.  thanks

Carlin was a genius.

Thanks for the discourse on time.  :-)  I am squandering it today with interspersed attempts at creativity and needed the humor break!

I agree about Carlin.  Attempts at creativity?  You don't know its creative until you are done with it.  We are all attempts at something.
thanks

As usual, Carlin's comments are genius. And timeless.

timeless?  so you don't have the time then either?  Being timeless might be good or bad.
thanks

People always want you to find the time but they won't help you understand where they lost it.

If you had time in a bottle, you still wouldn't have enough.

lisleman said...

I don't know is it half full or half empty?
thanks

lisleman said...

Yeah they will never admit that they lost it.

Now that I am no longer going to a job,  time has not importance. I usually have not idea what time it is. I live each day how I feel and what I want to do and no schedule. It is awesome.

another twist on timeless - Your type of timeless is awesome.
thanks

This reminds me of the beginning of a Green Day song, "Do you have the time to listen to me whine about nothing and everything all at once?"

I like that thought.  I'm not familiar with the song but sounds like one with meaning.
thanks
