you complete me

I was just replying to some comments and this thought crashed on my brain cells like a wave (or the foam at the top of a cold beer, or the splash of a squirt gun in the face, or the pop of a balloon, or - go ahead suggest another one).

The comments complete the post.

You are source of those comments.

The post is a shared idea that if there are no comments never expands its sharing.  Comments can expand it to unknown limits.

More often than not, a comment will trigger another idea.  I find myself wondering, "why didn't I add that in the post?".

The answer - because I needed you to prompt me with your feedback.

Thanks for the comments and completing my posts.

Oh your comments are great but text on a computer screen just can't match the emotion shown in a movie with good acting.

I totally agree without the feedback our posts may as well be entries in an old note book stuffed in a box, sure the entries may have many good ideas and a great deal of meaning to the writer but without reading those entries and responding to them they rarely will become more.

thanks sharing your feedback - yes the sharing part really adds to the writing.

I'd never thought of it that way, but you nailed it!

Sometimes comments teach me more about a subject or the comments show me a different viewpoint that I did not think about.

thanks - I learn many things in the comment section.

I love me some comments. I wouldn't love it if I opened my journal and found comments in the margin. That's 'cause I journal just for me, but I blog to interact.

Not a Tom Cruise fan but I love this movie.  "You complete me" has been overused to the point of parody but it still speaks volumes.

Good comparison between blogs and journals.  thanks

I'm also not much of a fan, but his acting is better than his interviewing.  The overuse of it probably lead me to use it here.  This movie had a few great lines - show me the money.
thanks

Such a sweet comment - thanks.  I really appreciate it when you sprinkle some sugar in my comment section.

You're so right! Your comment tonight is a perfect example--It inspired me to send a writing prompt to MamaKat. Pebbles on the water of the blogging world; those comments.

thank you.  oh the imagery and symbolism - don't get too deep you might run out of air.  Oh how about this - an exchange in the comment section is like skipping stones on the lake.

Aww sweet. I feel the same way. It's like a really good conversation.

thanks - written words work but they are harder to set the tone.
