lighten up it is not the news

“Right now I'm having amnesia and déjà vu at the same time. I think I've forgotten this before.” - Steven Wright.

You don’t need to be a mechanic to drive a car. You don’t need to be a plumber to use a restroom. Well actually I’ve been in some restrooms that really could use a full time plumber on staff. But do you need to be a writer to blog?

Christmas gifts - Here’s an idea - This year I’m giving everyone rolls of gift wrapping. Next year they will not need to worry about how big their present for me is because they’ll have plenty of wrapping paper. I think it’s best to think of others and help them out.

I forget now how I stumbled across this bit of trivia. Colma CA is a very special place for the hereafter. Informally, as of December 2006, Colma had 1,500 aboveground residents and 1.5 million underground. Must be a very peaceful quiet place and probably a great place for a lawnmower repair shop.

A German businessman is getting around an EU law banning incandescent bulbs by selling them as "Heat Balls" (seriously look it up). Would you say he saw the light or felt the heat?

You know President Obama went on a trip to India after the election. Don’t you think he got enough tea on election day? They have tea time everyday over there right?

Did you hear first dog Bo might be joining the Tea Party. He doesn’t want to be on a leash anymore.

Yeah when pigs fly -  Did you just see that flying pig? If you happened to be driving on I-90 in Indiana last Monday you might have seen pigs fly when a truck took them for a ride off a ramp.

Talk about flying - This month the International Space Station celebrates 10 years of human presence. Who knows where they will go to celebrate - around the world I guess.

I really like that quote. Sometimes that describes me exactly. Obviously you do not have to be a writer to blog. I am not a writer at all and I blog. I write what I feel. Lots of bloggers are outstanding writers, I am in awe of their talent. But I know that is never going to be me. We all are at our own level in all things in life and for me that makes it more interesting. Hubby lived behind a cemetery at the last little place, quiet place, ya know? Anyway, we watched the riding lawnmowers pretty much every day because it was such a large cemetery and we would joke that we should be so lucky to get a job riding a mower and being outdoors and paid for it. Great job for senior citizens like us! I wonder if President Obama really understood how difficult the job was going to be. Bo should take a bite in the butt of each person who says one more stupid thing and then pretends they didn't say it even though it was recorded. Sheesh.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts. We all have different talents some maybe be simpler than others. Even being cheerful and happy is a talent.
Lawnmower job - interesting, reminds me of what a Captain in the USAF told me once. His dream job was just that. He thought it would be great to just slowly ride along and nap until you bumped into a tree or tombstone.

Not whilst flying some huge warbird I trust?

lol - no. Sorry for any confusion. I was writing about the idea of driving a lawnmower for a job. (BTW - do you call them lawnmowers or garden mowers?) I recall the Captain was not even a pilot. Most Air Force members are not pilots.

You're just the king of puns, aren't you? How does your wife put up with you?

I appreciate your silliness and the fact that you dropped by. I'm joining your pack because of it.

I will never forget that little piece of information about Colma, CA. I have never thought about how the dead of the city could outnumber the living of the city. Ewwwwww!!

On another note, so glad you stopped by my toilet paper post over on Scary Mommy's site. My poor dude. FedEx would've been quicker. Also, I'm glad we both agree on the 3D issues.

Following you now!

Most RAF officers, such as me, were not aircrew, except in our sleep! I think both phrases are used here, but our house name is "Dunmowin" so we don't!

I do enjoy clever puns. Nice buns are good too, especially with melted butter and a little garlic. That second question really does need a clever answer which at the moment I don't have.

thanks always good to find another one that likes to lighten up.
"your pack" - Some posts ago I presented the idea (probably should have used powerpoint) of a blog gang. You might enjoy it.

Colma is a great place to live. They have so few "living" residents and so much money that all the residents get free cable and some of the streets were redone with cobblestones.

You mean the dead people are paying for the living's cable? What a deal!
Good to see them getting something from those dead beats.
