WILMA!!
Help we turned 50.

Did you see the google logo today?

Breaking News - (Bedrock) Fred and Wilma have outlived the average lifespan of a caveman.

I suspect 50 is probably twice the typical lifespan, but then I don’t know any cavemen to ask. Oh wait, my neighbor he appears to be a caveman at times, I could ask him.

Oh the Flintstones memories come flashing back (no not a sixties flashback). Back there in Bedrock when men were men, like Fred. Back when Barney was Fred’s best buddy not a high fashion New York luxury store (yeah I know that’s Barney with an “s”).

Here’s an example of great messages these guys provided me in my youth.

Could you imagine even a print ad like that carcinogen commercial today?

Oh maybe you were more of a Marlboro man.

I missed this funny insurance commercial but with the magic of youtube here it is for your enjoyment.

(just think instead of smoking Winstons, Fred and Barney could be watching youtube clips)

I saw a post on another blog about the Flintstones being around 50 years now. That show was a staple in my childhood TV days.

Hehe ... I loved the comics but this is the first time I've seen animated Flintstones - I was 21 years old before I saw TV for the first time ... yeah, things happen slowly in Africa ... come to think of it, now I feel like Fred or Barney watching Youtube clips ... :)

I don't remember them being spokesmen for any commercials! Sounds so odd.

I've seen the Winston sponsored Flintstones stuff before but honestly I don't remember it while watching the cartoons. But message gets into your subconscious I believe.
any commercials ? You must remember Flintstones vitamins. Much better than cigarettes but the Flintstones did well with endorsements.

I saw a Flinstones concert once at Universal Studios in California. It was so loud I had to put rocks in my ears! I have also been to the set location at a remote park North of LA for the Flinstone movie. They are a part of my era but I never thought the cartoon was as iconic as lets say the SIMPSONS. W.C.C.

I loved the Flintstones!

do you think people would be interested in my top cartoon list? I don't have one but could create one. People love lists. The Simpsons would be on my list but I'm not sure what position. Maybe cartoon characters would be easier. I love tweety bird.

Don't forget Stoney Curtis and Ann Margrock. They just don't write them like this any more.

OMG, I don't remember the cigarette commercial but I have it somewhere as I collect old commercials, just love them! That one is certainly a keeper! I didn't know the Flintstones turned 50!
