non-edible friday fragments

Do they really have to tell us that things are non-edible?
How do they decide which things to tell us about? Warning these car keys are non-edible.

Thanks to Mrs. 4444 ( 4444 Escher is an asteroid named after M.C. Escher but I doubt Mrs. 4444 knew that when she assigned herself a number)  I have a great way to share some non-edible thoughts with you.

Mommy's Idea

Do you have odd questions randomly pop into you head?
For example, once as I struggled to finish my commute to work.  I looked at the buildup of traffic going the opposite way and wonder where is everyone going.  I’ll never know the answer but I’m glad they weren’t all going the my way.

More useless ideas sprouting into my brain garden (still needs weeding):
  • Buying cold beer on ebay.
  • The popular vampire thing could mean that leaches and mosquitoes get more respect.  They are more common that vampires and suck blood.
  • Remember all those time capsules that were popular back in the 1960’s and 70’s?  Yeah, I forgot if I buried one too.

I really enjoy the Google doodles on their search page (I’m easily pleased).  Did you know they have different ones for various countries?
Check out their doodle page (don’t you wish you had a doodle page?)
I clicked on the Wizard of Oz doodle just the other day and learned an odd piece of trivia - the movie’s first showing was in Oconomowoc, Wis. at the Strand Theatre.

Hmm - maybe everyone is driving to Oconomowoc to see a premiere showing.  Sometimes it all comes together for me.

When you mentioned 'Oconomowoc' an odd question popped into my head: "Is lsleman serious?" ... this is almost as good as Ozark ... Google quickly showed that Oconomowoc is indeed edible ... I'd like to hear someone actually pronounce that someday ...

... but on a more serious note ... I'm having a lot of trouble posting on disqus ... error messages ... not even open ID wants to work ...

... at last ... it worked after I subscribed to comments

You should get yourself a Wisconsin map. There's many fun Native American named places up there.
Thanks for keeping at it on the DISQUS problem. Maybe you should report what went wrong to them. They have a help page on which you do get replies back.

The vampire thing is really gaining momentum. I don't get it though, as I have no interest in it. And yes, I remember that time capsules were all the rage back in our day. I wonder when they're gonna open them.

do you think time capsules lost their appeal because most everyone has lost their patience?
I'm no expert but I think the vampire thing has little to do with vampires and blood sucking and more to do with romance and mixed up teens. Maybe like James Dean just happens to be a vampire.

Almost every thing that pops into my head I can find an answer on google. That way I don't carry it around and get frustrated.

I once oggled a play at the STRAND theater in London but I never Googled a doodle before. You REALLY are easily pleased! Cute Post! W.C.C.

mosquito man just doesn't have the same feeling though.

I bet the WI one was named after the London one. Just guessing.

have you done any "twilight vampire" related cartoons?

I love the Google Doodles!

I'm perplexed by the "Do not eat" warnings on things, too. The little packet (can't remember what it's called) that is in the box when you buy new shoes. Who thinks that looks or smells tasty?

lisleman said...

If I understand the reason correctly the logic goes person eats packaging, gets ill, sues everyone they can because they were not warned. Many law firms are "a few clowns short of a circus" in my opinion.

Oconomowoc, Wis.?!?!?!?! The producer must have been from there ;-)

I have a "set" google page so I'm missing out on the doodles. I'm going to check them out and see if I can change my home page. Thanks for the tip.

Happy weekend, jj

I agree with the vampire thing. My husband of all people after taking teen niece and gran daughter to see them is in love with these movies. He is such a romantic but please do not tell him I told you because he is such a macho; Harley riding kind of guy! The mosquito now; you are right they are little vampires...Have a great weekend!

I don't random odd questions so much as random odd thoughts.

How funny-Oconomowoc, huh? Very interesting! Thanks. I'm putting a bouquet of your "flowers" in a vase on my kitchen counter :)

You are my first and last fragmenter to read today. Don't take it personally, though; I have a BUSY day/weekend to get ready for. Just popped by to say hi :)
